The song, “I’m in sad way” is a collaborative effort between myself and Mike Troutt of the Cleanspoons. Mike had recorded the music to this song with his band the Cleanspoons, as far back as 2002. When Mike played this lush, yearning instrumental for me, I really dug it. He handed me the disc and said “Here, write something” Almost instantly a melody formed in my mind. The words of a phrase I long held, came to life: "I'm in a sad way" seemed to match the melancholic vibe of the song. Soon the rest of the words fell into place. When we initially laid the vocal tracks, we felt that we had a pretty decent song. We then re-recorded the vocals in Nov. of 2007 and realized we had a really special track. This song will soon be available as a Single and as a track on my upcoming folk album. Also look for the song on a Compilation Album that will feature local underground artists.In addition to writing, recording and performing with my band THE LOVEBUZZARDS, I've also been working on songs with longtime friend and musical colleague AJ Caruso. Music from that project can be heard on our FNA! myspace site, which stands for Fran and AJ. Listen to our version of CINDERELLA’s “Nobody’s Fool”. We had been doing acoustic sets of classic rock songs for a couple of years now and had also been working on some original material for a future disc so we figured it was time to have a site to showcase this project. AJ is also a member of the band STRAITJACKET SMILE. As a guitarist and founding member of the band he is also in the process of recording a two disc album on the VERSAILLES RECORDS label. The record will span STRAITJACKET SMILE's entire catalog as well as a couple of new songs. ***Also catch a performance from myself and AJ on the track: "I Love It Loud!" featured on the album: LICK IT UP -A Millennium Tribute to Kiss, in stores NOW! on VERSAILLES RECORDS. The track also features Chris Heaven, Gerald Kloos and Richard Kendrick who also produced the cut. This album in some sense will be a culmination of my life’s work as songwriter. It will feature a couple of songs I wrote when I first picked up the guitar at age 13. Yikes! Most of the selections on this record will simply be myself and a guitar in front of a 4-track recorder.
