About Me

Everyday, an estimated 42,000 children are orphaned worldwide, many whose parents have died from AIDS. These children struggle to survive on a day to day basis to acquire the basic necessities that we, as American students, so often take for granted. There are 143 million orphans across the globe—many of them vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. Without physical care or financial support, these children are often forced into child labor, trafficked into the sex trade, or recruited as child soldiers.
Orphans and vulnerable children are an important part of the world's future and cannot be left to fend for themselves. The best way for us to help these young people is to offer them a future by empowering them with an education. Education can help curb the spread of disease, prevent violence, and equip vulnerable children with the tools and resources to take control of their lives.
You can help these orphans and vulnerable children by creating a chapter of Voices for Vulnerable Children at your school. Individuals can have a big impact in their communities by raising awareness and funds to help their less fortunate peers access the knowledge and skills that we as students enjoy. Please visit our website at voices.worlded.org to learn more about Voices for Vulnerable Children and get your school involved. It is our responsibility to define our generation as one that is ready to take a stand against poverty and injustice. Please join us in supporting orphans and vulnerable children around the world in order to help them create a brighter future for themselves.
