Influences: My influences come from various sources. My father - even though he was in army still had time to go around and collect some of the most interesting and unique music - now whan i say unique i mean unique. I remember him playing a christmas song called " Flash Your A Natty Dread "(fitting for him because at the time he had dreadlocks - yeah they are gone now). This is where my love of music came from.
He and his friends then set up their own sound system and played while they were on leave in varous countries such as - Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Canada, Ireland and the one I rememeber most is the Falkland Islands because he was away for so long. Since then his collection has grown. It was then i began to hear other artist such as Chaka Demus, Buju Banton, Mad Cobra Red Dragon and the list goes on. By listening and understanding the songs - it is easy for me to understand an artists past and where they see themselves. Every song has a meaning and when you listen to the music along with the words it is easy to understand the spoken message.
After gaining the basics from my dad, i decided to listen to the way other sounds play such as Saxon Sound, Stone Love, Killamanjaro and Black Kat. When I heard these sounds play, I started to discover other artists that play a different way but still speak the same message. Then last year I decided to get back to what i love the most - music and that is where i am today.
So for me - influences are all around. Whether it be an undiscovered group and or the sound of something within my own environment - it is up to to the person to take these sounds and make them their own.
