Dim Sum have made quite an impact on the scene in the time they've been promoting parties in London. Based in trendy Shoreditch in London's East End, the Dim Sum crew have rapidly acquired a niche market for their notoriously friendly, house party styled events. None of this snobby promoter behaviour at a Dim Sum gig, you'll feel like you're partying with an extended group of friends with an ever growing crew of regular punters at each gig.
After a number of monthly gigs, Dim Sum pulled out all the stops presenting the Passenger Records Boat Party. This was the party to firmly establish them as true players on the London scene, scoring them poll position in iDJ's Top 5 Essential nights out in London. The main man behind Passenger records and Aquasky producer Dave Wallace claimed he'd never seen a party of its kind sell out so far ahead of time, being two months before the day. The boat party played host to The Body Snatchers album launch with support from Aquasky, Tom Real vs The Rogue Element pres. Disco of Doom, Backdraft with the evening being hosted by The Ragga Twins.
As well as promoting our own nights, Dim Sum is being recognised for their commitment to the cause by other promoters UK wide. August saw Dim Sum get involved with Bloom Festival in Seven Springs Cheltenham as promoters and artists being asked to play the warm up slot for the almighty Fingerlickin’ Records 10 Year Anniversary.Off the back of our performance at Bloom Festival Dim Sum were invited to perform at the first ever Newcastle Green Gathering, an environmentally focussed festival in the heart of Newcastle.
