Okay I've decided after months and months to give a bit more information about myself. I am a music lover and dancer first and foremost. Those two passions have taken me on a life journey that has touched every facet of my existence thus far. Because of these passions, I've sought out places and spaces in time which would feed that fire that was lit when I was nine years old growing up in Chicago in Hyde Park (I am a child of the House Music movement). Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles, Andre Hatchett, Steve Silk Hurley, Pharris Thomas, Farley JackMaster Funk, and Lil Louis were my first teachers. From those tapes from The Music Box and The Powerplant (where my older cousin was a regular) to later years gigging at the Hyde Park Racquetball Club, The Edge of the Looking Glass, and McCormick Place my life path was being formulated for me. So, when I moved to Detroit at 15 years old and experienced "The Music Institute", "Cheeks", "The Warehouse", and most importantly "Heaven" (amongst other clubs in the "D") it was a natural progression for me to start promoting parties which I did for 11 years starting at the age of 19. First with K. Hand, then with Spectacles store owner Zana Smith and finally by myself showcasing the likes of Theo Parrish, Kenny Dixon Jr., Mike Clark, Scott Grooves, Ron Trent, Diz, Oscar Mcmillan, Danny Krivit, Hannah Sawtell, Minx, and countless others over the years. To date, I have taken on deejaying as an outlet for being a semi-retired promoter (I'm coming out of retirement--YOU HEARD!!!) and have developed a deeper respect and a love for the art (I understand the need for technology but what is technology if you can't move the crowd?). I welcome the uninhibited of spirits to join me on this journey to self-actualization and pray that whatever I do will inspire and motivate people to do and think beyond the box.
