Sherry St John grew up on a horse farm in New Jersey, where her family bred, showed, and trained Quarter Horses. As a young girl, Sherry would go shoeing with her father, who is now one of the top farriers in the world. She can still remember bouncing down the road in her father’s work truck, listening to country music. Crystal Gayle and Loretta Lynn were two of her favorites. It’s no wonder Sherry says, "I just love to sing about country"..... "I've loved to sing my whole life, and I was influenced by country music from a very young age."Sherry has been writing songs and gaining experience singing at events and competitions. While in Nashville for the Nashville Music Network’s Star Search, she caught the attention of Tony Mantor, CEO of Plateau Music. Tony liked Sherry’s voice and stage presence and the two of them started working on a four-song production. During this production, she had the opportunity to collaborate with some very prominent musicians, including David Northrup, lead drummer for Travis Tritt.Recently, Sherry had the opportunity to travel back to Nashville to meet with Wynn Varble (wynnvarble.com). Wynn is an accomplished artist and award-winning songwriter, who has co-written such hit songs “Have You Forgotten†and “Waitin' on a Womanâ€. While meeting with Wynn, he offered her the opportunity to record some of his songs. Sherry will be returning to Nashville in a couple of months to work with Wynn.In the meantime, she filmed a music video for one of the songs from her Plateau Music production. The video for the song "Live a Little" was directed by Dickson Sorensen (sorensenfilm.com).
