About Me

follow nonaligned at http://twitter.com If John looks familiar to you that is because you've seen him around. He's checked your i.d. at the Lizard Lounge (or maybe mixed your sound). He plays guitar with The New Million Box (currently backing pop phenom Paul Melancon ). He also sings and plays as part of The Builders (a guitar duo with Michael Carpenter ) and with Mike " Super Genius " Barry's Michael Barry Rock Quartet (a.k.a MBRQ). He plays bass in Betty Ford Pickup , the band Zipper . Until recently he was a part of Big Blonde (a.k.a. Archer City and formerly Starhick) and The Mirskys . Busy guy.
Unfortunately there are no known recordings of many of the other projects that John has poisoned/graced over the years. Bands like DVFD (The Dresden Volunteer Fire Department), Mitchell & the Marigolds, Johnny Carbon & The Copies, and the late, great Paramour with Jennifer London. Somewhere there are recordings of his guitar work with Big Train (first-round WBCN Rock N' Roll Rumble losers) & The Harmony Rockets (no, not the Mercury Rev side-project--the other, other, other one that was based in Boston), but such recordings probably only survive in the form of these weird objects called cassette tapes. Does anyone have a tape deck anymore?
He tried his own band for a while called "Squash" & you'll find some of it's demos here.
Oh, and he acts. See a short film:recently unearthed footage:

Yes, these are bruises from fighting. Yes, I’m comfortable with that.

And this button-down, Oxford-cloth psycho might just snap, and then stalk from office to office with an Armalite AR-10 carbine gas-powered semi-automatic weapon, pumping round after round into colleag...
