Tommy Gunz -- The unprecedented powerhouse record producer has become a jack of all trades in the music industry. While using ingenious sounds, unforgettable melodies and solid work ethics he has shaped an impressive series of accomplishments by the age of 20. During his success, Tommy has been exceedingly involved in the breaking of new local artist J Real, Tykunz, Magnum Flow & Alkatraz. In 2007 Tommy began producing for the legendary Hispanic hip-hop pioneer Mellow Man Ace. His production may be seen on Mellow’s latest releases under Koch Records. At the start of 2008 he opened a record studio for his company Drastic Measures. Aside from producing records for artists Tommy has executive produced several Urban World Wireless mixtapes hosted by artist as diverse as Ice Cube, WC, Papoose & newly signed Bad Boy entertainer Elephant Man. The fine connection between Tommy and the Urban World Wireless team earned them a nomination for best promotional mixtape by Justo Mixtape Awards in 2006
As an only child Tommy learned to be imaginative. He began playing the piano and the saxophone throughout elementary school. During high school Tommy was inspired to not only be a musician but engineer and entrepreneur as well. After meeting new people which would later become long time friends and mentors, Tommy began learning more about recordings and producing. In his sophomore year of high school he decided that he wanted to be a record producer. The next year he started a small business that became an independent record label for his productions as well as other producers’, songwriters and artists.
Presently Tommy has his hands in various avenues. When he isn’t producing music for artists or executive producing mixtapes Tommy is scoring music for popular network television shows. Some of his recent work can be heard on P Diddy’s Making The Band, So you Think You Can Dance, Access Hollywood, Yo Mama and Celebrity Expose. There is no doubt that Tommy will stay dedicated to his dream of creating an empire of artists, producers and loved music.
