I am here for Friends

About Me

I grew up in Kansas, and have been various other places but now I live in Oregon. I play banjo and pick mushrooms and work at a bakery. I like delapidated buildings and trains and railroad tracks and ruins and relics. I dig trees and green, growing, living things too. A lot of brown things are pretty cool too, for that matter.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I've been curious lately who is reading my blog. Who are you who isn't subscribed but reads my blogs? I think I might want to meet you too.

The garden, of course.

This is the time of year where I really can't write a blog that's not about our garden.  I had all these lofty aspirations of posting a bunch of photos but... I don't really have the follow-throu...

Is it spring yet?

I know it is technically spring, and has been for over a month, but it keeps acting wintry here on an irregular basis, teasing us with weekends of temps in the 70's, but then dropping back down to fre...

Rock Chalk Jayhawk

If you don’t follow college basketball, didn’t grow up in Lawrence, and never went to KU, the title of this post probably means nothing to you... and even if you do and did, it still might...

The Superintelligent Tick Apocalypse!?

I had this dream last night: I lived in a ghost city.  At least it seemed like I did.  I learned more as the dream went along.  It seems the world had been taken over (or at least some ...

Weekends are good.

Ahh, weekends are nice, even if half of them are spent in an exhausted, sore stupor.  More on this later.  So yes, the last few weekends have been really nice and full of fun.  We kick...

Birthday time

Tuesday was my birthday.  I am now officially 27, not like when I was unofficially 27... Saturday night we had a pot luck (as I'm sure most of you know, from the flood of bulletins about it), wh...
