ASH ONE is a revolutionary voice that penetrates Hip Hop’s commercial image. As part of a new generation of MC’s who are reconnecting with the roots of early Hip Hop culture, he is a link to the past and an architect of the future. The scope of his vision and the power of his music is a reminder of how lyricists from the streets became heroes and idols for America’s youth. ASH ONE is a much-needed voice in a culture cluttered with corporate interests swaying the genuine purpose and content of the music.Palestinian by blood and American by birth, ASH ONE grew up torn between two worlds. Belonging to a minority persistently portrayed as 'the villian' by the mass media, he bore the brunt of racism and intolerance throughout his childhood. He vented his frustrations by immersing himself in Hip Hop culture where he felt the unity among brothers and sisters of all races and religions. He especially identified with the MC- whose social consciousness is reflected in their lyrics. Armed with resentment for what he went through growing up and a longing for the purity of Hip Hop, ASH ONE vowed to let his voice be heard.After High school, ASH ONE traveled to his homeland, Palestine, where he spent two and a half years studying his culture and language. He watched as his people’s lives were destroyed and their nation ravaged and devastated. He endured the humiliation of checkpoints, the death of friends and family members, and the day by day degradation of a typical Palestinian's life. Astounded by the grim reality present before his eyes, yet the lack of unbiased media coverage in the US, he furiously wrote songs of revolution, pain, suffering, oppression and injustice of all forms fueled by the fire of a people who fight for freedom with stones and pebbles. ASH ONE returned home focused with a message of tolerance and understanding to share with the world.... and so the saga begins…..
