Dj Kata Mercado begins her career in electronic music in the year 2004. Getting amazed and falling in love with this world, in 2006 she decided to join the Chilean dj’s school “DjSchool” (www.djschool.cl).At the beginnings of 2007, along with the worldwide known dj, Dj Wask, she participated in the “Kent Secret Night” Tour, which developed within the most important cities of Chile. Later in the year 2008, she was hired again, this time for the “Kent Mintek Charged” Tour, in Santiago, Viña del Mar, Serena and Pucón. This time she had the company of Dj Tressor, whose name is also internationally known.Some time after she completed her course at “djschool”, she enrolled again for the EMP (electronic music production) course to gain more knowledge about making music, digital interfaces and software related to this activity. During the course, she stood out by being one of the first students of her class, and she strengthened her feeling for the industry, deciding to involve further.She has shared stage with most of the high level Dj’s in the country. Being recognized at the very beginning of her starting career, she was selected as a Dj to perform in one of the most important New Year’s Eve party, “Elevate” 2008. She has also performed at different important events, clubs and massive raves like “Sun at The Beach” in 2009, “Montemapu” festival, Club “Ex Oz, Club “Ex Fabrica”, Club “Lancelot”, “Glam Discotheque”, Club “Helsinki”, Club “Etniko”, among others. As well, she has been playing at the club “Piso33”, standing out for her performance on the stage.At the beginnings of 2008, Dj Kata Mercado and Campbell created the “X-Element” duo. While performing in tandem they attracted the attention immediately with their energy and dynamism when it was about making crowds to dance.She is also planning to get her own work into the market and to learn the VJ art, to show her deep and strong feeling for this and to develop her career even further.
