About Me

Better a witty fool than a foolish wit. - Shakespeare
You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills...girls only want boyfriends who have great skills. - Napoleon Dynamite
I have done a ton of stuff, but I'm happy now with my bartending gig at the Shed in downtown Anchorage. You've got to do what you love even if it's not what you expected to do or what was expected of you.
I also have played a plethora of characters, singing & dancing, being an idiot, and making people laugh. Unfortunately, the Fly By Night Club, an Alaskan icon where I was able to pursue this hilarity, is now closed.
Bartending Schedule as of 2/7/2008:
Wednesday, 10pm-2am upstairs main bar
Thursday, 10pm-2am upstairs main bar
Friday, 10:00pm-2:30am upstairs main bar
Saturday, 10:45pm-2:30am upstairs main bar
Sunday, 10pm-2am upstairs main bar
I've lived in Anchorage since 1978 with one brief stint in Denver for six months in 2000. After getting shot in Jersey, I returned to the AK.
I am actually a very serious person.
I am

Undirected Creative Force.
Open, receptive, devoid of pre-conceived notions. Beginnings. A young man holding the white rose of innocence in his left hand and grasping a vagabond's staff and satchel in the other, wanders with his gaze to the heavens, about to step into the abyss. His is the transformative journey of the spirit from innocence through experience into wisdom. His guardian and friend is the white dog symbolizing his own puppylike trust and faith, for which the world labels him The Fool.
Mr. White, congratulations!

My Interests

Laughing, singing, eating, sharing, sleeping, dreaming.

I have fallen in love...with Texas Hold'Em.

I'd like to meet:

People who are comfortable being themselves, knowing that we're all a little crazy. I like open and honest people who like to laugh and have a good time. Intelligent people and people with talent.

Music:

Here's a few, but you know, music, baby, you've got to dig more than you can name....Corinne Bailey Rae, The Pixies, Weezer, Radiohead, The Beatles, Cake, Gorillaz, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Liz Phair, Lou Reed, Violent Femmes, The Cure, Nirvana, Morcheeba, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, David Gray, Jack Johnson, Donavon Frankenreiter, more and more and more.

Movies:

Lots of movies. Here's a few: The Magnificent Seven, Blazing Saddles, Underworld Evolution, Sin City, Office Space, Brazil, Donnie Darko, Ghost in the Shell, Harold and Maude, Cool Hand Luke, The Empire Strikes Back, Blade Runner, The Princess Bride, Safe Men, Swingers, Resovoir Dogs, Yojimbo, A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good The Bad & The Ugly, Evil Dead II, Requiem for a Dream, Memento, Outland.

Television:

I usually watch television marathon-style, never see an episode of a show, and then watch season after season at a time. I've recently done so with Sopranos, Lost, and Battlestar Galactica. I need to buy Season Two of Deadwood, watch some more seasons of Scrubs, and marathon the entire Boondocks cartoon series.

Books:

Too many to list, but here's a few anyway: The Stranger, The Sun Also Rises, A Moveable Feast, Musashi, Be Here Now, Heart of Darkness, Claire Marvel, Where I'm Calling From, Poker for Dummies, Lessons in Service with Charlie Trotter, Tortilla Flats, many more...

Heroes:

My parents.

Change in the weather...

Thursday the sun came out boldly, and people were out in the city without abandon, or at least without the thicker coats they'd been wearing the day before. What a difference the sun made.Thursday wa...
