PaceMaker SoundSystem

About Me

'Set up in 2007 PaceMaker SoundSystem is a musical collaboration between Tom Akam and Johny Davies. Having both had success as solo artists with releases on a string of labels, the partnership came about more by accident than design. Having both used Ableton Live as the back bone of their musical output it was discovered that if a midi cable was run between the two soundcards the two computers would (with a bit of luck!) sync up and run together. This opened up a whole world of musical opportunity and yet another excuse to get together and get drunk. We could now jam together with our compuetrs as instruments, writing loops on the fly or arranging pre-made loops into a whole new entity. Combine this with midi controllers and electric violins and the end result is some what spectacular and always different (Plus the huge amount of kit out on the table looks pretty sick too). Over the next few weeks we will be uploading some clips of what we do. In the mean time here is a track up originally by Tom and remixed by Johny called Fuck Art Music.'
