the whiZk!d

Mario Rühr aka the whiZkid ist mein Name und geboren wurde ich, pünktlich zur Mittagspause, um 12 Uhr 12,am 23.September 1983, in Frankfurt am Main. Aufgewachsen bin ich in Nieder-Erlenbach, dem nördlichsten Stadtteil von Frankfurt. 1990 stieß ich, im zarten Alter von 7 Jahren, durch meine große Schwester, auf die kultigen Klänge von KLF, welche mich von Anfang an begeisterten und meine generelle Einstellung zur elektronischen Musik nachhaltig beeinflussen sollte. Von diesem Zeitpunkt an, begleiteten mich fortan verschiedene Seiten der elektronischen Musik, wobei ich mich nicht nur darauf beschränkte, sondern mich auch für die unterschiedlichsten Facetten der Musik interessierte. Als ich bei einem damaligen Freund, 1998, zum ersten Mal den Track Schubdüse, von Sven Väth, hörte, war dies ein außerordentlicher Treffer meines Geschmacks, welcher auf mich eine imense Faszination ausstrahlte. Ab dem 01.09.2000 bot sich mir die Möglichkeit, meine musikalischen Horizonte im Club zu erweitern, indem ich ab diesem Tag, für mich persönlich, zu einem lebendigen Bestandteil einer einzigartigen Feiergemeinschaft, eines Clubs, wenn nicht sogar "dem" Techno-Club Frankfurts wurde, die Rede ist vom U60311. Die daraus entstandene Leidenschaft, zu allem was das Thema Techno bis heute noch umgibt, ist der wichtigste Bestandteil meines Lebens, der wohl niemals an Wert verlieren wird. Selbst das Lineup dieser ersten Cluberfahrung hat bei mir einen solch bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen, welcher meine persönlichen Tendenzen, im Bereich der elektronischen Tanzmusik, bis heute widerspiegelt. Die Rede ist hier von dem einzigartigen Sound der Stammheim-Crew, welcher maßgeblich durch Pierre, Marky und dem lokalen Gastgeber Chris Liebing in Szene gesetzt wurde. Wer sich auch derartig hingezogen fühlt, weiss genau, dass diese durch ein meist komplex strukturiertes und will sagen "schräges" Klangbild bestechen. Zu Weihnachten 2001 erfüllte ich mir selbst den Wunsch, ein halbwegs brauchbares Dj-Equipment zu kaufen. Fortan legte ich großen Wert darauf, mich täglich mit grossem Eifer im mixen zu üben und weiter zu entwickeln, da mich bis dahin noch nie ein Hobby derart in seinen Bann zog sowie eine vergleichbare Form von Freude erzeugt hat! Als besonders fatal & kostspielig erwies sich jedoch die kontinuierliche Sucht, die neusten Platten oder auch Raritäten zu erwerben, was meiner Meinung nach, nicht mehr im kontrollierbaren Bereich des eigenen Ermessens liegt, da bei einem vernarrten Sammler, wie mir z.B., am Ende doch der "Platten-Jäger-Sammler-Instinkt" zum Zuge kommt und das begehrte, wenn auch vielleicht überteuerte Stück, stolz nach Hause getragen wird. (jemand der auch auflegt, kann dies sicher nachvollziehen:) Meine bevorzugte Spielrichtung zeichnet sich vor allem durch kompromisslos hart-schrägen und für so manchen auch ziemlich durchgeknallten Sound aus, welcher gut und gerne bis zum Hardcore reicht. Das soll allerdings nicht bedeuten, daß ich vom straighten "Detroit" abgeneigt bin, da dies' einen nicht zu unterschätzenden Einfluss auf meine generelle Art und Spielweise hat. Quasi lege ich auch gut und gerne ein "gediegenes" Set auf, solange dies' im "schrägen Rahmen" bleibt:) Diverse Party..s und Lokalitäten durfte ich mit meiner doch auch recht eigenwilligen Interpretation von Musik beehren: Dazu zählt u.a. der ehemalige Zauberberg (Würzburg), der P.Park (Karben), das Gambrinus (Bad Homburg), die Klangbar (Rodgau), das Tanzhaus West (Frankfurt), das Purrot (Hanau), die U-Bar aka 311 (Frankfurt), die Vinylbar (Frankfurt) sowie ein recht amüsanter Auftritt beim Radiosender Rheinwelle mit Linus (Dawn) und Sven (D.Noir). ....seit November 2007 taste ich mich auch an das Thema produzieren heran und habe dadurch eine, für mich, völlig neue Art der eigenen Musikinterpretation entdeckt und lieben gelernt...ich bin gespannt was daraus wird,denn das war noch lang nicht alles...................Mit freundlichen Grüßen...the WhiZkid...!!!
My name is Mario Rühr aka the WhiZkid and I was born punctually to lunchtime at 12 o’clock 12 at the 23th September 1983 in Frankfurt/Main. I grew up in Nieder-Erlenbach, the northernmost district in Frankfurt. In 1990, at the tender age of 7 years, I encounteres, by my big sister, to the cultish sound of KLF, which inspired me from the outset and my general attitude should affect to the electronic music, lastingly. From this time on different sides of the electronic music accompanied me from now on, whereas I was not only limited to it, peculiar I was interested for the most different facets of the remaining music. As I heared the first time the track “Schubdüse” of “Sven Väth”. I was at a friend at that time, this was an extraordinary fascination on me. Starting at the 1st September 200 the possibility was offered me to extending my musical horizons at the club, by I’m starting from this day, for myself personally, I became to an alive component of an inimitable celebration community of a club if not even “the” techno-club of Frankfurt, the speech is from the U60311. The passion, developed from it, to everything which the topic techno still sourrounds until today, is the most important component of my life, that probably will never lose at value. Even the lineup of the first club expierence has my personal tendencies within the domain of the electronic dance music until this day. Here, the speech is about the inimitable sound of the “Stammheim-Crew”, which was played to the gallery applicable by “Pierre”, “Marky” and the local host “Chris Liebing”. Who also such attracted by it, knows exatly that this captivate with a complex structured and I want to say “angular” sound characteristics. At Christmas 2001, I fulfilled myself the desire to buy a halfway useful DJ-equipment. From now on, I attached great importance to practise myself with large eagerness in mixing and further develop myself, since up to then a hobby never pulled me in such a ban and produced for me a comparable form of joy! As particularly fatal and expensively proved though as a continous addiction to aquire the newest plates or also curiosities, which is for my opinion no more in the controllable area of the own discretion. There by a goopy collector, e.g. like me, applied the “platter-hunter-collecting-instinct” and the coveted, even though it’s an overprice piece, will be take home proudly. (Someone who’s also making music can reconstruct this surely :) My preferential play direction is characterised particularly by all-out hard-crooked well and gladly up to the HARDCORE. Admittedly, it doesn’t imply that I’m averse to minimalism, because it isn’t sneezed at the influence on my general kind and play. Therefore, well and gladly times I present a dignified set, so long as remains in the “crooked area”. :) I was allowed to honour various party’s and locality’s with my also quite headstrong interpretation of music…:) Among other things to add on the ancient “Zauberberg (Würzburg)”, “Party Park (Karben)”, Gambrinus (Bad Homburg)”, “Klangbar (Rodgau)”, “Tanzhaus West (Frankfurt)”, “Purrot (Hanau)”, “U-Bar aka 311 (Frankfurt)”, "Vinylbar (Frankfurt)" as well as a quite amusing appearance at the radio station “Rheinwelle” with “Linus (Dawn)” and “Sven (D.Noire)”…. Since November 2007 I approach myself also the topic producing and thereby I discovered for me a completely new kind music interpretation of my own and I loved it! I will see what becomes out of it, because that wasn’t still everything…… Yours faithfully…..the WhiZkid!!!
