About Me

The Mindset is the latest alter-ego of Neil(The Doctor)Bowers,our aim is to create music,no walls no rules a complete cross section of tastes and styles,bringing in various muso's and singers along the way to up the ANTI.The Doctor started his first band the THE DECAYED in 1978 aged 16, just as punk rock exploded onto the scene,after a few line up changes came HOSTILE YOUTH, signed to NO FUTURE records their only release was the rebel anthem "FIGHT BACK" available on A COUNTRY FIT FOR HEROES vol 1. After calling it a day in 1984(who said the 80's were shite)The Docter took to jamming in his flat every night with his drummer buddy Nathe(R.I.P) ,then came THE IDES OF MARCH,playing there own brand of 60's n 70's garage- blues rock ,together with The Wishplants ,The Nerve and The Draw, the list is endless.Just great talent all riding on the crest of the Rushden wave.After the Ides split came APRICOT TYME,CHAD,THE BORN LOSERS and THEE OCCUPANTS........later teaming up with long time friends Will Plasma and Dave Atmosphere and making some of the best goddam tunes Northamptonshire has never heard.... and here we are back at the start of the story.
