About Me

I actually live in Kansas and it's quite uninteresting. I spend most of my time reading or sleeping for the most part. There's really not much else to do around here. I used to ride motorcycles, but decided to quit whilst I was ahead. Too many daredevil moves resulting in close calls! Haha. I pretty much tell it like it is. I'm not afraid to tell anyone my opinion about anything. I'm not an atheist, but I don't go to church because quite frankly I hate it. Religion to me is quite useless, as logic and reason are my tools to help me experience and understand the world. I do respect the beliefs of others, but don't care to hear or see it out in public. However I will admit I have little patience for "deeply" religious individuals who in fact know very little about their own religion. I don't understand how they can possibly take themselves the least bit seriously.
I'm currently attending the University of Kansas in order to finish up with my bachelors degree in Germanic Languages & Literature. It's really just a German degree, but the school labels the major in such a way and it does sound more intense so I use it. Plus I am studying Danish as well anyhow... I love Germania so I wish to learn all the major languages of the Germanic peoples. But then again I do read much on Astronomy and Astrophysics so I was quite indecisive, therefore I've also started on a degree in Astronomy. Since I've dicked around in college this long, I thought I might as well just get both degrees.
I used to drink beer in gratuitous portions quite frequenly, but have since stopped due to my recent decision to start going to the gym regularly. I've made much progress thus far, but am actually trying to look super-intense, rather than just semi-intense so I'm still going often; perhaps 5-6 times per week at least. However, if I do have a few beers on a rare occasion it has to be something good, preferrably from where else? Germany. Although Belgium also makes some very fine ales.
I also, as can be easily assumed, enjoy traveling. So far I have been to Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Finland. All of these lands were unique in their own way and I found them to be quite fascinating to visit. However, my favourie is undoubtedly Iceland. With a population of barely 300,000 and its rather isolated location in the North Atlantic, peace and quiet reign supreme. However, the nightlife in Reykjavik can be pretty exciting in retrospect. Also it helps that Iceland is only a 6 hour flight rather than 10 or 12 like some European destinations.
