Paul Tonning was born in Porsgrunn Norway 14th of april 1986.His Dad broke him inn to music at an early age, putting headphones on his head filled with blues, and 70's rock music as an infant to make him sleep.His mother Tone pushed him to start taking piano classes at the age of seven. (something that Paul in later years has been very thankful for.)At the age of 11 he picked up the guitar and started taking classes.Age 16, when did his A levels in music, He discoverd the music of Al Di Meola, and Fusion. which opened his mind to various genres.
(Other Fusion guitarist that has had a huge influence on Paul are John Scofield, John McLaughlin, Allan Holdsworth, Pat Metheny, and Mike Stern.)As Paul grew older, he found it to be more and more difficult to assosiate himself to just one genre "As Long as it sounds good is alright for me".At the age of 20 he moved to Liverpool England, where he started his bachlor degree in music.In October 2007 he finally started making songs for his solo project,
and in November 2007 he had his debut gig at BLEND.His music is inspired by Jamie Cullum, Jeff Buckley, Thomas Dybdah, and many more.Some bands Paul have played in;PEST.
