I Brake for Squirrels…

About Me

KINDNESS TO ANIMALS BUILDS A BETTER WORLD FOR US ALL...
For years, I have been a huge proponent of "No Kill" animal shelters and rescue groups including the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. I personally invite you to also become a supporter of no kill shelters and encourage your participation in this network of amazing humans. Below is some additional information about one of the non-for-profit organizations that are so diligently dedicated to loving and caring for our animal friends.
Take a minute to visit www.bestfriends.org and learn more about the work of Best Friends Animal Society.
Thanks.

CAUTION !!!
The following content may cause a heightened state of severe boredom and lull you into a deep sleep. Highly recommended reading if you are struggling with a bout of insomnia.
Well, here goes it...
My biggest pet peeves are dishonesty, rudeness, arrogance, selfishness and disrespectful people coupled with ones who lack compassion and concern for the welfare of other living beings. If none of the above describes you then please feel free to hang out for awhile.
On the flip side, I enjoy surrounding myself with upbeat, positive, intelligent, honest, kind hearted, creative, extraordinary people. So, if you are one of my few close personal friends please know that I consider you all of that and so much more. You are very dear to me and will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for honoring my life with your presence.
Been single (divorced) now going on 3 years. I had an awesome relationship with my husband whom I considered the love of my life and best friend. Unfortunately, after 19 years he betrayed my trust at the most deepest level. It was a trust that was irrevocably broken. Ultimately, his actions brought the demise of a great marriage and deep friendship.
Even though I have been hurt beyond measure, I refuse to be bitter. I choose not to hold every other man in the universe responsible for my former husband's devastating lack of judgment. I still believe in love and that relationships (marriage) can be an amazing and exciting way in which to experience life. Been there...Done that...Liked it!
Just for the record, I’m not currently accepting marriage proposals (you wouldn’t believe what perfect strangers will write in e-mails). However, I am still searching to find that ever elusive chemistry for a second time. I had it once and hope to find that special connection with someone again one day. It’s that thing I call the Goo-Goo’s.
You know, it’s when you walk into the room and that person's eyes light up when they see you. It’s that unexplainable thing which causes you to want to break out into a little Snoopy dance when you realize they’ve called or e-mailed. It’s that one person who makes your heart beat a little harder and your smile last a little longer even years down the road.
If you want to catch my eye keep in my mind that I’m a very visual person. So, in order to do so you will have to be clean cut, around 6’ tall with a muscular build, broad shoulders, a twinkle in your eye and a smile that can light up a room.
If you want to capture my heart you will need to be intelligent, kind, loving, honest, authentic, selfless, playful, have a reverence for nature, animals and their creator along with a sense of humor that will make me laugh so hard that my ab’s hurt.
Awe, hell...if you just so happen to have the build, intellect and humor of John Cena no introduction necessary. Stop reading all this stuff and just come over will ya. hahaha (Ya, ya, I know...I'm a mess, but I'm a beautiful mess.)
~~PAUSE~~
Still awake? Still curious? You really are a gluten for punishment aren't you. ha
RAMBLING CONTINUED PART II:
One could describe me as a very down-to-earth, what you see is what you get kind of woman. No games, no pretense, no bs and NO drama. You want to know something, just ask. If you don’t want an honest answer, then please don’t ask. However, in my quest to live a life of integrity I do make a sincere effort not to be brutally honest. I believe it is important to always speak the truth from a perspective of love, not anger or mean spiritedness.
Must confess that I’m fiercely loyal when it comes to protecting those I love (family, friends, pets) or standing up for the underdog. I can go from human to pit bull in 30 seconds or less. I have a very strong distaste for injustice and will diligently fight for what I believe in even if it doesn’t win me any popularity contest. I place more value on character than pleasing others.
Accept me as I am or watch me walk away...
Never mistake kindness for weakness. They are not synonymous. Just because I have a kind, giving nature doesn’t mean I'll allow someone to walk all over me. Hence, I'm easy to get along with as long as you are. Guess you could describe me as a marshmallow in a porcupine suit. A soft, mushy heart with a spiny exterior to keep from getting stepped on. It’s survival of the fittest. However, if you play nice I promise to keep my quills in.
Ohhhh, how I do love to joke around and make others laugh. I often have this Larson kind of “Far Side” skew on life. I enjoy putting a smile on people’s faces and a little giggle in their heart. Have no bones about poking fun at myself, especially if it amuses others. A friend once told me, “Those who can laugh at themselves, will never be without amusement.” I am amused on a daily basis, often by my own stupidity.
It would be remiss if I didn't mention my genuine love of animals and reverance for nature. Okay, you caught me. I'm a bit of a liberal tree hugger. As society has evolved we have forgotten that we were meant to be a part of nature's intricate amalgamation. Just in case you haven't noticed I'm also fond of interesting adjectives.
Seriously though, I could sit quietly for hours on a beach with my toes in the warm sand; intently gazing out at the ocean while contemplating life. There's a sense of peace and contentment that envelopes you. It's as if something magical takes place.
On the occasion that I’ve had the opportunity to do so; something interesting always seems to occur. Within minutes birds begin to show up, sit along side of me and stare out at the ocean too. I've always wondered what they were sitting there thinking about.
Huh, just realized something. Perhaps they were thinking, "What’s this crazy, stupid woman looking at? I don't see anything but water!" (ha) As much as animals amuse us, I think they use us humans for amusement purposes. I'm quite certain we give them plenty to laugh about.
Zzzzzz... Hey, you!!! Wake up!!!
Just wanted to wake you up so I could tell you goodbye and thank you for taking a minute out of your day to stop and visit with me.
Have yourself an extraordinary life and always remember...
Don’t forget to brake for squirrels!!!

My Interests

Living a healthy lifestyle is of great importance to me. I train at the gym 4 times a week and run several days a week depending on the weather. Have an aversion to freezing my hind end off.
Other interests are; wrestling, body building, music, writing, photography, animal rescue and on occasion I do like to partake in some ice cold adult beverages.
And, yep, you guessed it... WWE Raw John Cena. Okay, I know it's silly, but I can't help myself. The man has a brilliant mind combined with character and wit wrapped in a rock’n hard body. Now, that’s hot!!! And, truly a rare find.

I'd like to meet:

Positive, intelligent, kind, artistic, authentic, honest, respectful, caring people who enjoy laughter, find happiness in committing random acts of kindness and seeing others smile.
I am also interested in networking with people who are involved in body building, music, photography, the arts, pro or semi-pro wrestling, animal and/or wildlife rescue and preservation.
WHO I DON'T WANT TO MEET:
If you are married and looking to have an affair, an insensitive jerk, disrespectful of women, lacking in respect for yourself, are soliciting sex, a deviate, a player, looking to gain access into the US via marriage, are a wanna be porn director or worse; contact your mom or your shrink, but please don't contact me. I’m simply not interested.

Music:

.. .. ..
Enjoy a diverse mix of music. Anything and everything from contemporary Christian (LifeHouse, Audio Adrenaline, Casting Crowns) to middle of the road (Nickelback, Three Doors Down, James Morrison, Live) and alternative (AudioSlave, Alice in Chains, Three Days Grace, Staind). One exception being the country genre. Sorry, never have been able to acquire a taste for it.
Music has always been a significant part of my life from playing the guitar and singing to experiencing the vast talents of others. I often go to small venues around town to hear live bands play and support our local musicians.
Sad to say, but I haven't picked up my guitar in years. I do still love to sing. Can't say that my voice is anything angelic or beyond extraordinary. But, the dogs don't run away howling and the neighbors have yet to call 911. (ha)

Movies:

A good action, suspense or comedy flick works for me. Got caught up in the Bourne series with Matt Damon. Great story line!

Television:

If I'm having a couch potato moment, enjoy any of the Law and Order series. For a good laugh; Two and a Half Men, Seinfeld, Frasier and Becker.

Books:

Love to learn so my focus is always on non-fiction content. Of course, also have a two-year subscription to Muscle & Fitness.

Heroes:
