May 2007:
I suppose after 4 years, it's time I edited this.
This is not a numbers game. If I add you, it's because I am interested in who you are, or what you do. If I don't, thanks for stopping by, but you're not my cup of tea.
I'm really interested in meeting like-minded locals. Those of you in the arts are a favorite for networking and evolution. Non-locals are ok too, but perhaps not as frequently added. I want to find things that get me away from the computer, not tied to it.
Bands: If you are making an introduction, you will lose immediately if you send me a form-letter email asking me to listen or add you. I'll delete the message and the friend request and never bat an eye. If I don't know you, the friend request is the *only* way I will consider even giving you a moment to catch my attention. Your email is marked as spam. Bulletins and forums are for your whoring and advertisements and such. Thanks.
Having said that, if I know you/your band already, or you're not writing to say "hear me! add me! come see my show!" I don't mind actual communication on a personal level, but it's probably going to be photography related.
So, where was I? Ah, yes. Local (and sometimes non-local) Artists, models, musicians, and such are people I want to meet more of. But only if you're not a Myspace whore. KnowwhatImean? Save that for everyone else.
