I've been a Krishna Chic:) my whole life & was born in Oakland CA, & grew up for the 1st few years of life in Berkeley & S.F. area & our family hs done a lot traveling while my sister and i were growing up. We've expericed what it's like going to public schools as well as Krishna Gurukul Schools. Our GrandMa ws a Native American Indian, but 2 diff. tribes Navajo & Apache & GranPA ws Spanish & French. Our Dad German,English,Irish,Dutch. The Krishna philosophy teaches tht we R not this body, we R the spirit soul. So these R considered to be false identifications w the body, as we pass through many diff. bodies one life time after another. The bodies we inhabit R only temporary & not our real/ eternal existance. Our soul/us is our actual being or true identity, which is eternal. I love Bhagavad Gita cause i have been to many classes since i was a child growing up around diff. temples and their is still so much to learn from it & thier always will be as learning & discovering truths about all of life never ends. I also love Native American philosophy. I always loved going to the Pow Wows w my family. Native American tacos are soooo good!!! I hve always had an interest in Christianity which is very much a part of my life and learning right now. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

You are reading from the book Each Day a New Beginning
I have found that sitting in a place where you have never sat before can be inspiring.--Dodie SmithRepeatedly, today and every day, we will be in new situations, new settings with old friends, and old settings and situations with new friends. Each instance is fresh, unlike all the times before. And inspiration can accompany each moment, if we but recognize how special it is.
"We will not pass this way again," so the song says, which heightens the meaning of each encounter, every experience. Acknowledging that something can be gained each step along the way invites inspiration.
Inspiration moves us to new heights. We will be called to step beyond our present boundaries. Maybe today. Whenever the inspiration catches our attention, we can trust its invitation; we are ready for the challenge it offers. We need not let our narrow, personal expectations of an experience, a new situation perhaps, prevent us from being open to all the dynamic possibilities it offers.
I must be willing to let my whole self be moved, inspired. I must be willing to let each moment I experience be the only moment getting my attention.
