Music. More specifically good music. Films ... most definitely. Passtimes? When I have a little 'me' time, I love to hop out of airplanes at 10,000 feet, take a long walk along a mountain trail, sit on the beach and write, dive (you see so much life just 30 feet down), or drop into a cave. Yeah, pretty diverse. All things that usually inspire me to write more and that let me feel alive. In contrast to being chased by a bear, which makes me thankful to be alive. Travel? A favorite ... you learn so much when you see new places. And when you understand someone's culture, you really come to understand their point of view. The arts are the perfect blend ... travel, write, and meet new people. Share a part of your soul and see where it ends up.
Anybody. Buddha would be cool ... haven't met him. Jeff Martin, Adam Sandler, Trent Reznor, any of the guys in AudioSlave, Apt. 26, or Econoline Crush, Gandhi (the mug slapped me one time!), Jesus (that guy still owes me $5!), the pizza man, Bill Murray, John Coltrane, Robin Williams, Jabba D. Hutt, Val Kilmer, Jim Morrison, and The guy who made that little plastic thingie that holds the soda cans together.
Take two and call me in the morning. I'm into a broad range of stuff... from Tchaikovsky to Metallica, Stevie Ray to Stevie Wonder, NIN to The Tea Party, The Police to Apt 26, Prince to Bowie. I don't think there's been a band that hasn't influenced me yet.Don't really listen to Yanni, though. *smirk*Really love the local music scene ... Atlanta is the best! You've got a hundred great bands here each full of great people! What more can you want? The best music is usually always the stuff waiting to be discovered. Now, to listen to a little Snoop Dogg ...
I'm into B movies, horror flicks, and a good comedy. Let's not forget David Bowie in Labyrinth. A classic! Foreign films rock. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, anyone?
I've been told that I have one, but I rarely am home long enough to confirm or deny this vicious rumor...
Yes. Lots of them. Too many. Rooms full of 'em. Especially on western and eastern mystery traditions, comedy, horror, business, music theory, and philosophy, Shakespeare, Twain, Nietzsche, blah blah blah. Hitchhiker's Guide is one of my favs ... also highly impressed by Thomas Disch's "The M.D." and Craig Shaw Gardner's "Epics of Ebenezum".
