the birth of monroeville.
monroeville was first conceived in its most basic form in February 2005 when the technician at kingsley theatre decided to put on an acoustic gig. brett said that he would play it and the challenge was set to produce enough songs to play as a set at this forthcoming gig. hearing her play piano brett asked eve if she wanted to play with him at the acoustic night. at first she said no with her usual 'i can't really play' routine but after constant asking eve eventually gave in.
originally planned to be a 'one off' project for the one gig, the two found that it just worked and there were plenty of people out there ready to hear more. so began the long hours of writing. by the summer of 2005 the pair had written enough material to produce their first ep, self titled 'monroeville'. now available from all gigs and from the store page on their website www.monroeville.co.uk
wanting to develop their sound brett and eve started to write full band parts and enlisted the talents of bruce on drums and aaron on bass guitar around the end of april 2006. the songs then evolved into what they are today.
