Pacific Jungle manages Hawaii-based drum and bass talent, books drum and bass artists for events in Hawaii, and promotes those artists and events. We are made up of Gin aka DJ Saya, Paul aka DJ BassX, and Shane AKA DJ Antikkz. As of now, we manage many of Hawaii's Drum and Bass DJs along with MCs Enemy and Kelvin Zero. More artists are constantly being added; check the side panel for links to their pages!Subphonix, an all DnB monthly event began October 7th, 2005 and we handle all the booking and promotions for that event. Subphonix is the 1st Friday of every month at Mercury Bar, downtown Honolulu. So far guests have included Dylan & Robyn Chaos (Freak/Obscene Recordings), DJ Mowgli (Clique/CBS), Rouge State (Translation Recordings), Quantum (7-17), Shimon (Ram Records), DJ Whizard (MSL, LA), Nightstalker and MC XYZ (Knowlege, Rinse, LA), DJ Lee (Metalheadz, Atlas), and DJ Circuit (Almost Famous, LA). And we promise, it is only going to get crazier! We have also had our second all-DnB event in collaboration with Electr01yfe called Echoplex. The Echoplex premired on April 29th 2006 featuring 8 local DnB DJs playing back-to-back all night long to rave reviews from the crowd! Our July 1st 2006, Echoplex featured Red One (Ram Records) and we followed that up with another 8 DJ tag session in August. Our last Echoplex featured Kiljoy from Concord Dawn straight from New Zealand and DJ Whizard from LA in November 2006, and was absolutely amazing! January 2007 saw our new foray into Next Door with our first installment of Pacific Jungle Sessions . We started it off huge with Ed Rush, and saw 2007 fill out with Shimon and Evol Intent in March, and the ever-exciting John B in June. Also in 2007 and early 2008 we had Amplify, an event each 1st and 2nd Saturday at Lotus Soundbar in conjunction with Siq Records, featuring all our local dnb artists, as well as a couple larger events there called Lift Sessions, featuring the hip-hop-tinged stylings of Jayvon and XYZ (LA) and then the soulful sounds of Jo-S (LA).
As 2008 continues on, we are about to kick off a brand new all liquid night, Broken Liquid, run by Honolulu's two first ladies of Drum and Bass, Saya and Toki at Bar 35, downtown Honolulu. Our Special Gala Preview Event is May 31st, and then Broken Liquid will continue every 3rd Saturday of the month after that. We're excited to tell everyone that there will be NO COVER for this event, and just hope everyone can come through to relax, socialize, dance a bit, and generally just chill. Look for some big liquid artists to stop through every couple months (big guest nights there may be a small cover).
