I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)P.Y.K.'s History and Future Legacy........
We have been P.Y.K. (Princeton Youth krew) since August 2007. But technically we have been a group since January 2006. Previously we where called "The Way Youth." The name was really simple. It was based off of John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. This is of coarse is Jesus talking and plainly telling us that only through Himself can we be saved. Well, we truly believe that but as we grew as a group we also grew spiritually as group. And we were no longer that typical youth group...Starting in 2005 there was only a handful of teens in the group. But keeping with the weekly Bible Studies (even if there was only 1 or 2 teens) going to a couple key events the group soon grew. The numbers aren't that spectacular and honestly I couldn't tell you how much teens with all the ones we lost (meaning, they no longer attend) and the ones we gained. But to give you an idea, we had less than 10. So going into that first summer we where doing good. Camp that year was great, with an attendance of about 8 teens, 2 sponsors. But the group was just getting started...At the end of that summer we got our first new recruits (new 7th graders). This was a real good year (attendance wise). the youth put on a Scary Maze for Halloween, we had a good Christmas Party. 2007 came fast and as a group we all got together and went to Night of Champions. And the youth testimony night was a big hit. All the teens said something to profess their Faith in Jesus and we made the church aware of this generations struggle to follow the Truth. But we also showed everyone that with God all things are possible! I am proud to say that each teen is walking with God, even though in this world it may be the odd thing to do.Summer of 2007 was here and the group grew even stronger. With the name changed to P.Y.K. we continued to do the usual stuff. Wednesday Night Church and going on events here and there. And that pretty much brings us to present time, Christmas 2007........................................................
.............. The Legacy.......In a resent Bible Study we went through the verse Romans 1:1. And in that verse Paul tells us that he is separated unto the Lord. He made it clear to say unto the Lord and not separated from the world. And as a youth group (P.Y.K.), we are separated unto the Lord. That means we only want to be about what God wants us to be about, that is Jesus. Nothing else matters. The group has been through a lot but has stayed strong in its Faith in Jesus. There is a table in our youth room that is signed by the first generation of the P.Y.K. And they signed that table in hopes that future generations, future teens will look at their lives and see the greatness of the Lord and how much he blesses one who follows Him. And their hopes and prayer is that they too will choose to follow Jesus and be blessed beyond belief. That is what P.Y.K. is all about and we hope this "legacy'' if you will, will continue and many more will give their lives to Christ.
