JUNKSOUND [NEW ALBUM]

ONCE UPON A TIME...
There was a prom organized by the 10th grade of the Ernst-Abbe-Gymnasium. On the occasion of that event, a band was founded in autumn 2006 called “Chilled Chicken”. They covered a couple of songs and rocked the crowd’s socks off. They just had one single gig afterwards at the school yard. Anyway, four members of Chilled Chicken wanted more than just covering songs.
ROY (vocals, guitar), ARVID (drums) and Max (keyboards) and later ALEX (guitars) decided to form a different band. Eventually, after some time of puzzling they decided to be called JUNKSOUND .
First we practiced at the school and started to cover a song but we all were dissatisfied with the situation, so, we decided to find another band room and finally we found a room at a local youth club called HUGO . Due to a lack of keyboards we started to write our first songs without Max. Unfortunately, he had to leave the band.

EARLY JUNK:
Arvid, Roy and Alex continued and tried to shape some music out of the many different music styles of each member. Nevertheless, in autumn 2007 the first two songs BURNIN' MY LOVE and ACTUAL CONTRAST were quickly written. Wondering what we created, not being sure what style it was, we had our first kind of gig at the KASSABLANCA on 8th October 2007. Without bass our sound wasn’t that thick but we liked it though.
Short time later, UP TO NOW and KEEP AWAY FROM ME were drafted and later in the year performed at a couple of gigs at the Hugo. LIVING LIKE A DEAD MAN was also written at this time.
THE DARREN ERA:
At a Christmas gig DARREN , a guitarist of the band Methadon, came up with the idea that he got a bass, so why not join Junksound that was looking for a bassist? Anyway, he was a friend of ours thus it was no problem to involve him rapidly. We rounded out the program and wrote FREELOADER , CHILL BABY and THE NOTHING TRAIN in early 2008. Meanwhile, we established a little online presence on myspace.com. Darren’s father recorded a couple of our gigs, thus, we have some records of poor quality at least.
Long story is short; we are a young alternative rock band that is influenced by many styles like metal, grunge, hard rock among others. We are at all time looking for gigs around Jena for or with you and we are happy about any feedback. ;)
