Back Trax

Back Trax started about 9 years ago when John Marshall and Doug Tilley put together the "Last House Band" to do a fundraiser for a recovery project they were involved with. Last House did one show with Big Toe, but John and Doug also jammed together off and on over the years. Doug eventually went on to play with Tommy Hoyt in a honky-tonk band called "Mustang". Mustang played shows around San Diego for about three years until Doug and Tommy decided to move on to start new projects. Tommy moved on to play more blues oriented musical styles. Doug went on to do a project with his girlfriend Adriana. Working on that project, Doug met drummer Robert Snider and guitarist Lenny Lawkin, and formed the rock cover band "Freedom". Freedom played gigs around San Diego off and on for about three years or so with different players coming in and out. Among these musicians were John Marshall and Tommy Hoyt. During his time with Freedom, Doug worked on several different blues, country and rock projects with Adriana before finally settling on a pop punk band they called "Ghost in the Graveyard". Over all this time, John, Tommy and Doug continued to jam together until they decided in November of 2007 to start another band so that they’d have a reason to play together on a regular basis. They ran a add on the Reader online and a drummer by the name of Mikey was the first to call. Mikey fit right in so they didn’t look any further. In a month, they had rehearsed and prepared about four hours of good old 60’s & 70’s rock and blues material and are now lining up gigs for this year. Their set list is ever growing, as well as the range of different genres Back Trax will perform. The band is always hard working, and promises to put on the best show that they know how!
