About Me

My name is Lauren Lee Innis and I am an opera singer-in-training. I am currently working on newer and more challenging repertoire, and at this point in time have only one song recorded (Think of Me from The Phantom of the Opera- recorded by TempesT at Ascension Studios www.myspace.com/tempesthiphop). Although I am working on improving and strengthening my voice, this recording may give you an idea of how I sound.
I have been singing since I was 11 years old when my class music teacher "discovered" me during a singing assessment in grade 6. I did a couple of years with the school choir, then quit for my first year in high school to focus on dancing. By the second year of high school I realised I could balance dancing and singing, so I joined the choir, started singing lessons and never looked back. I am now learning from local opera singer Stewart Cameron (www.operatif.com.au) and I have been improving in leaps and bounds under his instruction.
I am a part of the Opera Chorus School, run by Stewart Cameron and have recently joined the band Alpine Fault. We have yet to record any songs since my joining, but that is on the to do list, so watch this space! I am also a part of the Brutal Ballet Company (www.myspace.com/brutalballetcompany)
