About Me

I like to hang out, chill, mingle, agglomerate, socialize, fraternize... I am going to ASU (engineering) and am pursuing a career in racing. For years I raced simulators online internationally, and became the youngest WORLD CHAMPION in 2003 before leaving to pursue physical racing. I race in an internationally recognized series, Stars of Karting, which is basically the North American championship for karting. We are capable of going 0-100mph and back to zero in about 10 seconds (WOOOO-HOOOO!!!) geared correctly. In addition to racing, I am a driving instructor at my work, Bondurant , and out at the race track.
I like all the good things in life. I believe they far outweigh the bad. Except in my worst moments, I focus my sight above. I love friends. I hate hatred. I love hard work. I hate pride. I love connecting. I hate lost romanticism. I love music. I love silence. We are beautiful messes, but we are beautiful messes together. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I'd like to meet:

Winners, losers, racers (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).

Music:

Everything. Typically alternative though. Typically not country ;). My favorite band is Switchfoot.

My favorite instrument is the air guitar, followed closely by the air drums and (air) harmonica. Violins (real ones ;)) are good too; I have never heard music with a violin that wasn't good.

Movies:

Lots of stuff...you can't go wrong with a good comedy though.

Video from my work: Kart vs. Corvette Z06

Television:

I enjoy shows that make, well, fun of things.... like South Park, The Simpsons, and Seinfeld (yes, if it starts with the letter "S", I like it ;)). I will watch just about any racing.

Drama shows are among the worst artistic things ever created by man ;).

Books:

Stuff written by:

C.S. Lewis (ie; the man)
Carroll Smith
Ross Bentley
Mitch Albom has got some good stuff too

Heroes:

GOD. He makes the rules so you might as well side with him ;).

I also look up to Ayrton Senna because he was an absolutely genius racer. Racing was how he pushed himself, and it became a intangible metaphor of life for him. He drove like he was possessed. All you have to look at is his qualifying at Monaco 1988. As he later described it, he was driving outside of himself. In his head he was driving one corner ahead. Already on pole, he kept going faster and faster until he was over two seconds faster than his World Champion teammate Alain Prost, in the same car. After he crossed the line his consciousness realized what was happening, he became so scared that he returned to the pits and didn't go out again for the rest of the day. He had pushed the limits so far that the constraints of our consciousnesses couldn't handle it. He was EXTREMELY dedicated, smart, and humble.
