BioRoddy Gordon—vocals, slide/lead guitar/blues harp. With forty years gigging experience, Roddy is truly a veteran of the music business. Born in Aberdeen 1951 with an Irish mother and Scottish father, Roddy was exposed to the culture of Celtic music from a very early age. At fourteen, Roddy was listening to Bob Dylan, The Stones and exploring the roots of all styles of American blues. When he was sixteen, Roddy moved to London and was soon playing the folk clubs and wine bars of London’s Soho and Mayfair, including a year’s residence at the Western Bar, Leicester Square.Initially working solo before forming his own band, Roddy played many major rock and folk venues including The London Hard Rock Café, The Speakeasy, and The London Roundhouse. The band featured on such programs as ‘Country Meets Folk’ and ‘The Sound Of The Seventies’.Over his musical career to date, Roddy has had the good fortune to work with a number of top musicians including, drummers Twink ( Pretty Things. Pink Fairies, Tomorrow and Hawkwind), Pete Banham (Honeybus, Peter Green, Mike and the The Mechanics) and George Butler (Dana Gillespie, Elkie Brooks, Robert Palmer), bassist Robin Sylvester (Dana Gillespie, Bob Weir’ s Ratdog, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan) and keyboard player Pete Barden (Rod Stewart, Van Morrison Peter Green, Camel) and has recorded with Gary Moore, Madeline Bell (Blue Mink) and Doris Troy.In 1978 Roddy moved to NSW. Based in Sydney he spent two years playing solo in clubs, wine bars and restaurants before returning to London in 1980 to gig for two years, with Jim Covington (ex Nashville teens P.J. Proby) playing extensively at various venues around England.1982 he returned to Sydney playing the clubs and functions circuits, five to six nights a week. including a four year residency at The Rocks, ‘Fortune Of War’ Hotel . Roddy returned to the UK in 1987 and continued to play club and function gigs throughout Scotland and England up until his recent return to Australia. Now back in Australia Roddy has formed a three piece blues and folk/ roots band , Using material that incorporates his experiences and his diverse influences and tastes, Roddy’s repertoire reflects his many years of musicianship as he sings and plays unique versions of Irish and Scots ballads, blues, rock and country, together with his own original material.
On drums and vocal Tom Stehlik ex Paul Kelly The Ellmores ,Redgum.
Lyndon Gordon, 17, started playing guitar when he was eight and has been playing guitar and bass for nine years now. He was taught by his father Roddy who was always constantly playing with his band, causing Lyndon to want to play guitar. Playing throughout his school life and being in a few bands, he has played gigs such as "Almost Famous" and the "Willunga Folk Festival".
