About Me

In the winter of 2004 a band out of Staten Island, New York was formed called Last Sanctum. Although the band did play a few local shows it never really got off to a good start and the plug was pulled only a few months later. By the time spring 2005 had arrived, guitarist Joey Caruana & drummer Greg Morris began talking about putting together another band. The two recruited the skills of Joey's classmate, Alex Zichettello, a well developed guitarist out of northern Staten Island. The band started to play together and things were coming along. At first the trio wouldn't want to recruit a bassist, and went by the name Third Gear. By the fall of 2005 the boys knew they would want to add a fourth member to the band. In October of 2005 Eric Vega joined Third Gear and the quartet was formed. One day in Middle October while trying to take pictures for the bands Myspace, Greg suggested a band name change. While the boys were driving down Richmond Road, Joey was bragging about his Mustang, saying his car was so fast that it could do 100 easy. With the accidental name adopted by the boys, they began playing local shows. After almost 8 months of gigging Joey & the boys decided to bring in a singer. Andrew DeMartinis joined 100EZ in the spring of 2006, and was thrown directly into a gigging storm. His first show was a battle of the bands show at The Knitting Factory in NYC. 100EZ placed top 3 in the competition earning them 12 hours of recording studio time with Mercy Sounds in the East Village of Manhattan. After the band recorded a few songs the spotlight became cold. Andrew decided to take an offer to a school in California and quit the band in August. The boys decided to call it quits as well, but once again Joey & Greg tried to put a band together again in early September. After officially claiming 100EZ dead, the boys renamed their revival band Amateur Hour. After only 2 weeks, Greg & Joey knew they needed Alex & Eric to keep their dreams alive and began calling their former bandmates. With some convincing both Eric & Alex rejoined Greg & Joey and Amateur Hour was on it's way. Once again The Knitting Factory came knocking on the door of Joey, wanting them to play another show at the end of October. With less than 2 weeks until the big show the band still agreed they would need a lead singer. Anna Gorovits went to high school with Greg and had a very good voice. Anna's best friend, Jessica Badolato who is dating drummer Greg (sorry ladies ;D) told him about his alumni. Greg suggested it to the band and they agreed to try to her out. On October 12,2007 Anna was asked to front the band. The band would play the main stage at The Knitting Factory as 100EZ, on October 21, 2007. The crowd loved every second of the show and the dream was once again alive. In January of 2008 100EZ caught the eye & ear of New Money Entertainment scout Steven Morris, who told CEO Supreme about the local talent from Staten Island. 100EZ is now recording their self titled demo out of Gagg Studios in Bay Ridge Brooklyn.

Influences: Summer nights when you're with your friends and everything seems right. The feeling you get when you look into a burning fire and admire it's beauty as well as it's power. When nothing seems to be going right and adversity becomes your friend and all of a sudden you can overcome anything. Those are the influences that have kept 100EZ and their songs strong, passionate, and meaningful.
Sounds Like: We'd be lying if we said we were unlike anything you've ever heard before. Instead we have an honest sounding fusion of rock, pop, and punk with a few surprises along the way.
