Hi! I am one of those guys who loves to have a lot of different things going on in my life. I play drums (and some other band instruments), love sports: diving, sailing, slalom and other kinds of skiing, taekwondo and judo (unfortunately no time for that for the moment) and I enjoy working with my hands (renovated my apartment in Helsinki) to mention some of the things I really appreciate in life. I love my family and my dear friends, and would like to find more time to spend with them!My passion for drums began at six years of age when I got my first "gigs" playing African drums in a choir. I got my first own drumset when I was 13, and throughout my teenage years I played in various venues. After High School I began three years of formal studies at a vocational school in Finland, followed by nine years at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. (I was the first drum major in the music education department at Sibelius, one of Europe's most prestigious and respected music universities.)During my studies at Sibelius, I taught drumming, band instruments and music theory. I also had many opportunities to play in several professional bands, touring and recording in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany. In 2001, I received a Master's degree in music education with drums as my main instrument. After graduation I was invited by Sibelius to work as a lecturer/instructor as well as coordinate development for the Swedish language program at the university. At the same time, for the past five years, I have been engaged as a drummer and percussionist for musical productions at the Swedish National Theatre in Helsinki. In addition, I have continued to freelance as a drummer or percussionist in a variety of performance opportunities. Fusion, funk, hip-hop, latin, pop, jazz and rock are some of the musical styles I feel most comfortable playing.2007-2008 I studied drums at MI in Los Angeles. Jag sysslar med allt möjligt. Är musikmagister till utbildningen (huvudinstrument: trumset), dyker, seglar, sportar, gillar god mat, vacker musik och trevligt sällskap. Året 2007-2008 fortbildade jag mig vid Musicians Institute (MI) i Los Angeles med fokus på trummor.
