Style:
I'd say the best I could describe my music would be alternative hip-hop. Listen to my shit, and honestly there ain't really anythin out that sounds like me. I like to switch it up though, maybe one day do a club soundin track, then the next do somethin really lyrical, and after that maybe somethin dark and twisted. I don't wanna get stuck in a zone where people expect one thing out of me. Call me versatile I guess.
Favorite Artists:
My biggest inspirations would be Eminem and Slug of Atmosphere. I notice a lot of white rappers try to distinguish themselves from Eminem as much as possible, but I can't deny that for a long time he's been my favorite MC and I probably wouldn't be as likely to have tried rapping if it hadn't been for him. So if there is anyone you might compare my sound to, it would be him. As for other MC's though, I like a lot. Just some examples: Nas, Jay-z, Biggie, 2pac, Mobb Deep, LL Cool J, Chamillionaire, Sticky Fingaz, MOP, The Game, Chino XL, Canibus, Demigodz (especially Styles of Beyond), Mike Shinoda, Obie Trice, D12, DMX, Kardinal Offishall, JD Era, Ludacris, Royce Da 5'9, Tech N9ne, Lupe Fiasco & Xzibit. Ya, that's all I can think of right now.
View on Hip-Hop Today:
So many people talk about how the industry is hurting and hip hop is dead and whatever the hell else they wanna say. Aight look, you can't kill hip hop. No matter what there will be those people doin it for the music. If hip hop dies, it will be main stream hip hop fading out cuz of the degrading quality of mainstream hip hop. It won't be people not listenin to hip hop anymore. If that happens I say its about time. Hip hop is almost being split into different spectrums right now. On one hand you got crunk, snap, pop-rap, and R&B, and that shit has pretty much takin over the radio. 12-16 year old kids are the ones who buy a shit load of music, and thats who music companies are targeting with that kind of music. On the other side, you have artists like Chino XL, Canibus, Joe Budden, etc. who are constantly putting out quality material and you never have to worry about. As long as that type of music exists, so will hip hop in my eyes.
If I could collab with anyone, who would it be?:
Without a doubt Eminem, Slug or Mike Shinoda.
Inspirations:
To see my inspirations you just gotta listen to my music. So much of my shit is straight from the heart. My main focus is to always stay real, and hopefully my fans will feel it.
What makes me different?:
Honestly, just listen to my music and you'll see what makes me different. My shit is in its own category. I also can hop on anythin you'll throw at me and make it hot. I can write a hook like no other.
Anything else?:
Second album coming soon! Download and check out "Manic", available for free download now! Check out some new songs on my myspace or soundclick (www.myspace.com/wolfrellikmusic & www.soundclick.com/wolfrellik). Ask anyone who knows me, and every time I write a song I know I've outdone my last one. I've seriously been called an addict when it comes to my music. There is days where I've written 4 or 5 full songs back to back and just spent hours and hours writing and recording, not to mention how many nights I've stayed up til 6am (or just not gone to sleep) writing. Some MC's say this is easy, but most of those emcees really don't put anythin into their writing and you get a bunch of tracks with a ton of filler, that just rely on the beat to carry them. I try to turn the focus to my lyrics, with less emphasis on the beat. So keep comin back to check out whats new on here, and I'll do my best to keep new music comin constantly for you all!
