I am the wife of a wonderful man, and a work at home mother to 2 beautiful children. My daughter is 8, and my handsome son is 3 mo. I created The Butterfly Boutique while I was pregnant with him. I had begun reading about all of the benefits of "baby wearing", and decided that once born, my baby would be worn all the time! I really enjoy sewing, and so it only made sense that I would make my own baby wearing ring sling. Soon, my other pregnant friends wanted me to make slings for them too! Eventually I was getting request to make slings as gifts for expecting parents. With celebrities poping up here and there wearing their children, the demand for my slings grew, and out of that demand the Butterfly Boutique was born.Shortly after I gave birth to my son, and while shopping for post pregnancy clothing, I noticed how unflattering nursing shirts and really maternity wear in general is. I've always felt that prenancy and being a mom were beautiful...why not celebrate that beauty with chic, trendy, yet affordable clothing! Who said being a mom meant you had to wear a tent! As a result of my frustration, I am currently in the process of creating a maternity line designed specifically for moms who don't want to trade their Louis bag for a diaper bag. Clothes that we can feel good about and... dare I say it... sexy in without breaking the bank! My mommy friends and I are really excited about this, and I expect to be able to launch this new line in spring 08.
