I am a socially conscious, born-again believer in Christianity. I happen to believe that the two go hand in hand and shame on those of us that have lost our compassion for people the way Jesus did and instead have chosen to chase and idolize money. If you don't believe what I am telling you, then you would have to also discredit Jesus' concerns for humanitarian issues. Here is an eloquent example of what I mean. "It is an age of liberation, in which "the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have the good news preached to them" (Luke 7:22). This is not pious talk, and does not need a seminary degree to interpret the message. It is a message about the ghetto, and all other injustices done in the name of democracy and religion to further the social, political, and economic interests of the oppressor. In Christ, God enters human affairs and takes sides with the oppressed. Their suffering becomes his; their despair, divine despair. Through Christ the poor man is offered freedom now to rebel against that which makes him other than human. - Dr. James H Cone (Black Theology, Black Power). Unfortunately this message is not very popular in many churches today and has sadly taken a back seat to more popular theologies such as "prosperity teaching." Which leads to why I am here. I am hoping to network with like-minded, socially and community minded persons (especially Christians, but not exclusively) of various ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds that genuinely care about the plight of underrepresented and disadvantaged people in this country and abroad. If this is you and you'd be interested in connecting with me, I'd love to hear from you. With that being said, please understand that I realize our nation is a conglomerate of many social groups that are represented on this site. I respect this fact and therefore would appreciate anyone not interested in the same issues mentioned above not bother to contact me. I prefer not to hear from, guys in particular, that are hung up on the superficial portrayed senselessly in hip-hop today about how much money, gear, gold teeth, etc. they have. I'm over that. It's time for real talk and real revolutionary change in this nation and abroad if we the people care about not becoming extinct at the hands of the corporate elite and their agenda for a New World Order. Remember together, united, we can never be defeated! and we NEVER say die to the movement for freedom and justice for where there is no struggle there is no progress. Your's in the movement....
