TOFFEE WAS STOLENThis is Toffees owner Jodie, as some of you may know my computer was stolen in february this year.
I came home from work one day in mid may, to find Toffees hutch wide open and him gone, I was in a state of shock as you can imagine, a a neighbour told me that some teenage boys had mangeded to get up onto the flat roof patio of the first floor flat where I live and took my darling Toffee from his hutch. The neighbour saw them with Toffee on my patio from the window of the stair well that over looks it, and then tried to give chase but they got away on scooters.
Toffee would have been 1 year old on the 17th of May.
I cried everyday for a least a week. Why would anyone steal a guinea pig? hes not worth any money. those of you that know me will know how much I loveed Toffee, he was all I used to talk about, I would kiss him everyday and call him my "fat boy".
He would run round in crcles on my floor leaping and jumping with delight, and would cry for food everytime he heard me open the fridge, whether he had food or not.
He would lay his little head on my lap, look at me and make a funny purring noise. I dont care what anyone says he had a personality.
Having my guinea pig stolen is much worse than having him die, becuse I will never know what happend to him.
I took me a month before I coud bring myself to clear away his things.
I told the police and everything but it came to nothing I'm afraid, they couldnt care less about a guinea pig, let alone that I now do not feel secure in my own home, I'm now too scared to leab the back door open.
I later found out that the only reason the boys got in is beacause the owners of the flat two doors down that is empty and being renovated left the back gate open and they simply climbed along the roofs to get to me. They have now put a padlook and chain on the gate but it is too little too late.
Toffee was not bought in a petshop, he was a present to me from my little sister whose guinea pgs had babies. He was one of a litter of four, he had one brother and two sisters.
My little sister gave the babies all confectionary names, Coco, Caramel, M 'n' M, and Toffee. I liked the name Toffee so I kept it.
Thanks to everyone that has been Toffees friend for the last year.
