About Me

It is hard to tell you where I'm from exactly except to say that I was born in the deep South and raised in Kentucky. I hate the word "can't"! I have always believed that you CAN do what you set out to do. Maybe you won't always be an expert, but you can experience it. It is important to act on what it is you want to do. What to do now? Well I'd like to co-author a book with my deceased father (he has written TONS of poems and prose), play accordion, lead a school, sing at a karaoke bar (this is HIGHLY UNLIKELY, but remember I said that you didn't have to even be good to do it.), finish a romance novel, compose a song; start an online ministry. I am married to my husband Joe. We have an Irish Wolfhound. We have no children but I have 560 at the school where I am lead teacher/assistant principal. I love my job and literally spring out of bed to get there in the morning...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Jesus (Knowing about Him is NOT enough!);master accordionist Flaco Jimenez; Pope Benedict XVI;Zydeco/Conjunto fans, Jesus seekers, book lovers, writers, educators, and ANYONE who feels like an outcast.~Joe Schermie, former bassist for Three Dog Night~ (1945-2002) I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of talking with Joe Schermie by phone twice before his untimely death. He was responsible for the fact that I became a working bass player. I found him to be extremely personable, encouraging, and helpful to a novice like me. I will never forget that. Rest in Peace, Joe!

My Blog

Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Cha’s and Buckwheat!

Folks, if you have never seen a good zydeco concert, let me point you in the right direction.  Here's what you do.  You find out who plays some good zydeco, and then you seek them out. ...
