Actually, Renee is my middle name. But my parents chose to call me that. I grew up in Lubbock, out on the South Plains with the blowing dust and cotton lint. My family is musical, and we're all crazy musician-types. My grandma taught me as much piano as I was willing to learn, and my mom tried to teach me to sing. I got married in 1980 to the guy who understands me better than I'd like to admit and loves me anyway! He got me interested in Christian apologetics, history and politics - in that order! We moved to the Houston area in 1981 and stayed until 1990. Then we moved to Cowtown. The most important aspect of my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ. The second is my relationship with my husband and two sons, ages 20 and 15. Then, our extended family and our church. Then, Southwestern Seminary's Master Chorale. And, the best dog in the world, Data, the black Labrador Retriever. Music is life. Singing is air. Without music and singing, I'd die.

My Interests

Cowtown is the best kept secret on the planet because it has down-home atmosphere and culture, together in the same place. The attitude of the musicians here is not, "See what wonderful musicians we are - you will never rise to our standard," as it is in many places. Instead, musicians here support each other and work together. I sing with the Southwestern Baptist Seminary Oratorio Chorus, aka The Fort Worth Symphony Festival Chorus. Since I was too insecure in my abilities to ever take music in college, the Oratorio has been my musical training. It has enriched my life in more ways than I can count and as long as I live in Cowtown, I'll be a part of it. I love Depression glass. And, I need a lid to a green Hocking pretzel jar. Look at my photos and leave me a message if you have one you want to part with. Thanks!

I'd like to meet:

I've already met Jesus.I'm here to keep up with my family members and maybe catch up on some of the musicians whose music I enjoy. I'm not on myspace to meet people. If I don't know you personally, or know of you, I won't add you as a friend.John Williams, President and Mrs. Bush....

Music:

I like all kinds of music - rock, blues, classical, Christian, jazz, 70's, marching band, alternative, and a little country. Rap and hip-hop don't count as music - sorry. Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, Vivaldi, Mylon LeFevre, Bryan Duncan, Jason Morant, David Mullins, John Cox, Kansas, ELP, Doobie Brothers, Chicago, Christian big band Denver and The Mile High Orchestra, trumpeter Wayne Bergeron, pianist Philippe Saisse, Taylor Hicks, many movie soundtracks - "The Incredibles" is incredible! I'll list more later...

Movies:

To Kill a Mockingbird, The Big Country, The Quiet Man, The Village, L.O.T.R series, Star Wars, Star Trek, You've Got Mail, Return to Me, The Incredibles, Cars, - and I cry in all of them - just ask my kids. more to come....

Television:

American Idol, House, Fox News Channel, HGTV.

Books:

I read The Da Vinci Code and enjoyed it - but NONE of it is true! Don't believe it! Let's see.... The Bible! I like authors Frank Peretti, Brock & Bodie Thoene, and Oliver North. If you want to read a real thriller, read This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti. Then go get your Concordance and find, then look up, in a New American Standard Bible, all the scriptures on angels and demons and read them. You'll walk around with a new perspective on life. Bodie and Brock Thoene's The Zion Chronicles, and The Zion Covenant series have taught me a lot about World War II Europe, the establishment of the state of Israel, while keeping me interested with well-rounded characters in exciting plots.

Heroes:

Jesus, my husband, my brothers, my kids, our pastor
