About Me

.. FG1 is no stranger to Hip Hop or the music industry. A single of dad of two daughters, his experience started when he formed his first group PG-13. Rapping since age 11, most of "G1s influences were east coast rappers. He began making demo's and pursuing a recording career early in life. While most kids were out riding bikes and playing, FG1 was working at either playing the piano, making mix tapes, break dancing, beat boxing, or free styling lyrics for His next demo. By age 13, FG1 had developed two other friends into potential rappers, and added them to His group PG-13. Raised in a Christian home by a single parent his mother encouraged him to use His musical talents for God and become a minister. So He began playing the organ for the church, but took the money he earned and made more Hip Hop demo's. FG1 always wanted to serve God through Hip Hop, but was turned off by the many failed attempts He heard comming from the church. He soon landed a deal with Kru Kut records and Alonzo Williams who discoverd Ice Cube, Dr Dre, and Sir Jinx. In 1989 releasing the "Compton Compilation Under Investigation" . This album gave the group a chance to be signed by Quality Pump records and release "Rolling Wit Da PG". FG1 then known as Dr. Feel Good, gained much radio play for the solo song "Teen Age Reporter". Fueled by controversy the band was sued for the name PG-13 and returned a year later as "Positive Generation". The record company brought in "Blair Underwood and F. Gary Gray" to Direct the video but then "Quality" changed the groups image to a more wholesome approach and release the song "Still A Young Man" as a come back. All would now agree, the strategy was pretty weak! Soon after the group would disband not taking the second deal offered by Quality. FG1 hooked up with several up and comming Producers and began paying more dues. He learned whatever they were kind enough to teach. During his deal with "Quality" he began ghost writing for several Artist and utilized his abilities to then help the producers develope their artist. So many people broke in the music business because of this unsung Guru. Always spiritual, FG1 knew helping others reach their destiny would also lead him to his Own. People often have to remind him to all of those that He has helped along the way, but He looks at it this way. "All the years of writing, producing, performing in the background, mentoring and just being a friend was at no charge. Now i can finally Help myself". He still plays keyboards sunday mornings at Refuge City Church as the the band director under Pastor Shelton Lawson, and after rededicating his life back to Christ the summer of 2003, their is no going back. Completely sold out to Jesus, this young man truly lives out the songs on his album. Stay tunned because the best is yet to come from Mr. FG1 (feelgoodmusic)
