Layout made byMick Aplin has been professional tattoo artist since 1992. He begun his career in Darwin, NT, Australia as an apprentice to Andy Gould that year. After moving around for a while he ended up in Seymour, Victoria where he opened his own shop known as "Mick's Tatt Pitt". After 2 years of successful business, Mick decided it was time to move to a warmer climate which brought him to Mackay, Queensland.After settling into the Queensland lifestyle, Mick finally got back to business doing what he loves most, pumping that colour and body piercing at his current shop, Maiden Ink.In his career thus far he is especially thankful to fellow artists Andy Gould, Beans and Trevor McStay who helped him a lot throughout the years. This memorable & valuable time for Mick was spent at Derek's Tattoos in BlackPool, England working with Derek himself, a veteran of over 40 years in the Tattoo industry.With this experience behind him Mick returned to Mackay to put to work some newly learnt Styles and Methods he had picked up off Derek, and this then seem to be a turning point in Micks career. From this point on his work just got better & better, throwing Mick to the forefront of his chosen profession.
