He also worked as a print-ad model from ages 10-14 and is a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild. His vocal style derives from such influences as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Bobby Darin, The Beatles, Lindsey Buckingham and U2.He has performed throughout half the United States, solo and with a band, and has sung with a wedding band and swing orchestra. He has played such venues as The Hard Rock Cafe' in Nashville and Memphis and was a resident act at former NYC’s nightclub, The Psychic Cafe for over a year.He has recorded in the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, where Elvis Presley, BB King, Roy Orbison, Jerry-Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash got their start. His album, “Under the Memphis Sun” (Three Minute Records, August 2005) features 11 songs Presley made famous, three originals and a remake of Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire.” Joey also recorded several songs in Nashville where he was joined by Elvis’ legendary drummer, DJ Fontana, and backing vocalists, The Jordanaires.He has donated his time to play benefits for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in NY, The American Cancer Society, The Sheffield Library in Alabama, The Staten Island Waterfront Festival and The September Concert Series in remembrance of September 11.The Ottawa Times described Joey as "a talented crooner who belts out Elvis hits and other songs with a knack that would make the “King” himself proud.” Staten Island entertainment publication, The Source, described Joey’s music as “a sound that oozes sweet melodies and rhythms with just enough bleakness to recall early Hank Williams and Springsteen’s “Nebraska.” He was also nominated for Best Original Male Solo Performer in Staten Island's, AWE Magazine in 2008.Joey is currently completing the recording of his latest album, featuring mostly originals and a few songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Bee Gees, in The Rockaways, NY.
