The Hackney Citizen is an independent quarterly, reporting on contemporary Hackney with a keen eye on the topical, irreverent and interesting.

It is by turns frivolously light-hearted and resolutely serious, whilst its refreshing kaleidoscope of facts and opinions seeks to surprise and engage its forward-thinking readers.

Challenging, bold and upbeat, it seeks to reinvigorate the local newspaper format with passion and purpose.

We'll be covering music and art projects all over the borough. We're getting around the borough, covering all the venues, markets, clubs, galleries, pubs and keeping an up-to-date list of goings on, plus reviewing live gigs, new singles, exhibitions small and large, events and the like.

So, if you're of the artistic bent and live in Hackney, expect to see us soon.

As the name and 'About Me' suggests, we want to meet anyone and everyone arty who a) lives/performs in Hackney and b) would like some free advertising.
