About Me

It all started about 17 years ago when my oldest brother bought me my first guitar. The really large steps didn't occur for about another 3 or 4 years when friends an' I started our first shitty punk band(Cappy's Convulsions). After that I went on to start an 11 piece ska band(Jambalaya). We were mildly successful and played a lot of great shows, opened for some great hideliners including The Skatalites. But, because of so many people in the band, we all wanted to do different things. As usual, creative difference strikes again. Believe it or not, after 4 an' a half years of being in a smally popular local band, I hung up the spurs. It wasn't until 4 years later that I started doing some serious writing again. My roomate Dan(from The Fancy Lads) and I decided we were only going to write songs about girls built on these catchy one liners we would come up with. He worked @ a record store so we would sit around for hours an' bullshit about our combined failed love lives. Shortly after I talked my brother into playing lead guitar and we hooked up with an old friend from highschool. Thus, Stewart R. Miller was born(alt country and the likes). That only lasted through a few rough months of heavy drinking before we threw in the towel. Then, it all happened. My brother(lead guitar) gave my his 8 track recorder(he up-graded), and I got dumped. Yep, leave it to a woman to bring back those creative juices. I wrote an entire folk/country album about this chick(R.J. Chavez"Lonely at Best")! Pitiful, I know.Shortly after trying to win her back with the album that's supposed to renew her love for me, she starts dating a buddy of mine. No I did not write another album about her, just a few more songs. 3 to be exact. After that I was done with the cryin' and moved on to sampling beats. Exactly 1 year to the day of my previous release, I put out my second album,(R.J Chavez vs. Suspect86"The Vinyl Frontier"). This was an excuse to have me two alter egos duke it out for control of the creative process. This cd was another mild success. I sold all 300 copies that I had pressed and made back all the money I had put into it. I'd call that a success. I know it's out on the internet somewhere, but I couldn't really say where to find it. Although if you ask nicely, I just might mail you a copy. That release was April 14th 2004. As for now, The new album has been a year an' a half in the making. I have over 150 minutes worth of new material, but now I have to trim the edges to about 65 minutes if I ever want anyone to listen to it. Sorry, no double or triple disc sets in my near future. So all I really ask is that you listen to it and give me a little feedback.

Tell me what to do!

Okay, here's the challenge. I'm asking you(the reader) to come up with the next song I should record.  You can suggest a cover song I should do, or just a particular genre you would like to hear ...
