~in collaboration with Tami Stamper ~Thanks to Tim Miller for his - kind giving of time - nearby the cozy heat of fire within his Laughing Buddha Studio ~
Influences:
I've heard it in my head - like a rhythm drum, a beating -
to the top and overflowing - I'm a spill of endless word.
Influences ...?
...the ordinary. A walk outdoors - hello to strangers -
If someones holds my hand - making me laugh and sometimes cry -
it hits me in the heart - making these lasting indentations -
as I sit at home alone - pick up a pencil and a paper -
it all comes tumbling forward -
like I said -
it has a rhythm ~Influences ...? Everyday ~

Sounds Like: I've been told - and yes, I hear resemblance - for I've been 'influenced' from my birth. Even tho I hunker-like a hermit - it's been a never ending listening ~
I started singing nursery rhymes - then harmonizing with lawn mowers - so sure of operatic stages ... with volumed lungs - I let it fly - a voice - belting ~
Then Joan - I loved her warble - and I sang along, pretending - a little girl of the 60's when Joni penned her many words ~
Billie - and of course - Ella - and Ed Sullivan, I thank you ...for bringing Louie into my living room - I sat a child in wait and yearning - for the wide world ~ I had this feeling ~
Niel and Cat - and yes, Sean Phillips - in splendid vocal - he sucked his breath completely and filled the room - he drew me in!There was this fellow - still a mystery - that I found upon a hill - Queen Anne to be specific - now "that" man, surely made me dream. His name was Paul Parish - a vinyl record rummage sale - I knew his every word - and I can sing his long song still ... "He" ...still a mystery ~
I 'could' go on and on - for the music's always pulled me - the first words of rap, I heard ~ my soul - a fast ball flame - it had me spinning -
for I spit, sometimes - so quick - not brisk enough for all the telling - Blue Scholars and the like - they have me proudly grinning ~...Carole King and Tapestry - and now, I sing of wings ~
