Elias Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that looks to provide hope and opportunity to Zimbabwean youth through community development and education, while empowering the American youth culture to embrace their global role and make it an active one. We do this to see love take root in the hearts and actions of those involved. Our inspiration is Elias, a father to his sons and Zimbabwean community. The reality of their humanity inspires us to action. We hope to inspire others to the same relationally focused lifestyle and in the process build strong communities in both the United States and Zimbabwe. Scholarship Recipients Justice is our first university level scholarship recipient. We are very proud of Justice in his educational achievements and his contribution to his community. We are also currently supporting Manuel as he completes his secondary schooling and takes his final exams. He will be attending university in 2007. Honest is receiving our support through his secondary education. He has approximately two years remaining in secondary school. Community Center We are in the process of starting our first community center in Chiredzi, Zimbabwe. Teams from the Elias Fund traveled to Zimbabwe in 2006 and 2007, outlining a budget and plan for the community center. More details regarding the community center will be released soon. Chiredzi Street Children/Blind Outreach On our first trip to Zimbabwe we were introduced to a community of about 70 families whose parents or guardians are blind due to untreated disease or other circumstances. Our Zimbabwean director has partnered with this group to provide the funds for the food for these families, which has allowed many of these children to get off the streets and into school.
