"The recently formed south coast collective ensure to please with their indie/electro blend. Venice Ahoy will take to the stage to display their infectious offbeat tempos, fast punchy guitar riffs and lyrics which are delivered with as much conviction as pace."

"Although beforehand I quite liked them, I was fairly cynical about them seeming to just want to jump on the foals bandwagon, however when watching them it was easy to simply push those cynical thoughts to the back of my head as they threw themselves and their instruments round the stage, and the only way I can think to describe it was as though they were playing in a washing machine. At least once a song I was actually quite scared something or someone was going to get hurt. “Maps†was definitely the highlight of their set. “cut off your nose, to spite your face†was a really amazing outro. - 8.2"
ADE (E.P review)
"It's a barrage of pure energy. They seems to be taking their influences from some of the best bands of the last couple of years, with intricate guitar work and unbelievably catchy vocals that force you to scream along. they are a band who have massive promise."

"Venice Ahoy are coming back, armed with a host of straight up indie dance fun songs that will challenge you not to get involved. VA are bound for big things."
Artrocker Magazine
"Venice Ahoy, in the Queens Hotel, were blinding. With daylight streaming in through the windows, and a sparse and sober crowd to play to, these guys went for it. As accomplished as Foals, these were not so much songs as riffing, grooves, rantings, off-mic chants, all with leaping and violent stage activity. Without hesitation we took up their offer of a £1 demo CD."
"Fingers move across fretboards faster than you can keep track of. The band treats the stage as a place for performing too and and it's a blur of whirling musicians, pausing on occasion for their call and response vocal refrains. Taking offbeat post-hardcore punk and The Foals over technical afro-beats and guitar lines to a frantic level, a Venice Ahoy gig is a thrilling experience as their performance at the recent 'Boring By The sea' festival proved. Selling their myspace tracks at gigs, a release offer can't be too far away now."
"A stop-start, math infused, art-pop-punk that left the sparse audience agog. the stage could barely contain their antics too."

"This music makes me want to punch my window cleaner square in the mouth....In a good way!"

"Renowned for their live shows which have been described as an insuppressible blur of energy. Venice Ahoy Blend intricate guitar lines, boisterous gang chants and afro-beat rhythms."

"Venice Ahoy are an exciting prospect. Four boys hailing from Southampton where we recently ventured to see them play at their local haunt, The Joiners. It was loud and fast but above all, the music was really, really tight. That's what struck people when their 3-track EP surfaced - how fully formed and complete the songs were. You must have heard 'Fireworks' by now, but if you haven't I heavily reccommend you check it out. Venice Ahoy make this new brand Math that isn't for the high brow and pretentious. Call it Math Pop if you like; I suppose the fast fret board action and the pure easy catchiness of it could be pretty aptly described in that way. Just try and catch them soon, they've been recording in New York and they're gonna burst real soon."

"Venice Ahoy rounded off the evening with their madness. I’ve loved these boys since the first time I saw them. They put on a show! Last year, I often used to wonder if they actually had any real songs in amongst their on stage shouting’s and intricate guitar playing, but, since their return from New York where they recorded their singles, I can see quite clearly that they do. Everything’s more polished now; the finishing touches have been applied to – what were - their start off stand out tracks, 'Maps' and 'Fireworks' and their new songs are even bordering on melodic. They’re still manic and mental, but now have the added bonus of being strangely comforting in parts. 'Venice Ahoy' confirmed one thing to me, with them in my life I don’t need drink or drugs to bounce up and down or smash my head against walls with glee."
Melanie Anne Cole, LONDON TO TACOMA Blog
"Venice Ahoy, is a very young quartet from Southampton. They looked like Interpol, were all wearing matching outfits, and sounded like Seattle locals Kane Hodder mixed with The Fall of Troy. If you're into that sort of poppy-hardcore sound, their energy is completely worth it. My friend and I were cringing the entire time, thinking they were all going to run into each other on stage. Their final song "Fireworks" was probably my favorite of their set."

"Venice Ahoy are my favourite band of 2008. With energetic exuberance 'Fireworks' leads in with overly-catchy chants that’ll stick in your head all day over an American Football-esque riff on fast forward. You’re always kept on your toes. Quirky, psychedelic lyrics such as “We’ll swim to the moon and we’ll always have Paris†flow throughout assuring you of this band’s explosive creativity.'Maps' starts hectic as hell with voracious tapping and delectable drums. Much like the previous song its pace is furious and the riffs change faster than the seasons. Theres claps, chants and chorus’ to keep you entertained as the song swiftly enters an electrifying unexpected end.'Screwdriver' (Battleships) shows Venice Ahoy’s softer side. With clonking, calming riffs reminiscent to this town needs guns, the tempo suddenly rises and a punkier, edgier side arrives to explore your ear drum.Get in on this band before it’s too late. They’re bound to be huge."
