He was the kid in your 3rd grade class making fart noises when your teacher bent over. The guy in your middle school english class trading slammers for Power Ranger pogs. The dude in your high school rumored to have gotten drunk and walked around Wal-Mart in the nude. Matt Foley is all of these things. He is your everyday suburbanite preaching white bread, egg salad and mediocrity. In a society where rappers are flashy, braggadocious and cynical, Matt is a breath of fresh air with his nonchalant physical style and approach to songwriting. Witty and humorous, Matt brings forth a new era of hiphop. A world of cul-de-sacs, Mercury Voyagers and Saturday morning cartoons. He calls it "HipHopracy" which in essence means he's rapping about making fun of rapping. Performing and touring with rock/ska/punk bands, Foley has clearly aimed his sights at middle america.-2006 XXL article
Having grown up in Massachusetts, Foley has centered many of his songs around New England and his beloved Boston Red Sox. Rapping since 1998 Matt has had the opportunity to perform with some amazing artists. Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Brooke Hogan, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross and JoJo have all shared a stage with him at one point during his stint. He has also worked directly with the University of Miami (FL) Hurricanes to create their 2002 theme song adaptation Yet, through all this star power he remains abundantly humble and sober toward his music regarding it often as "Not too shabby". His album "Live at the thrift store" is in the works currently and hopes to be finished by the winter of '06. Feel free to email him or message him. He'll answer. He's not a "bitch".
Matt Foley is picnics, tether ball and basement parties. He's yard sales, debate club and spin-the-bottle. Very simply, Matt Foley is suburbia. So pull a fold out up to the table, enjoy some egg salad and take a listen
