About Me
Kia Ora and Greetings in the name of the Most High....Creator, and no-one is greater..Jah! My name is Oblex.B.
I am a C_lek_ta or you might know it as a deejay(JahLoveSounz).....Well it all began in Ponsonby Auckland....in the early 80's.
Hansley who came from Jameka, had the concept to build a soundsystem in Aotearoa(NZ).
Thats where I met Asterix, and we both loved the Reggae, so we hooked up and practiced, he worked the mic, while i juggled the sounds,(Hansley, Asterix & myself had dancehall happening every Friday night at our H.Q in Pollen St Ponsonby at the time...Hardest InI even had a roadie sound engineer..Big Ups Isaac Gad...who started c-lek-ting bout 85-86) We were called 'JahLoveMuzik' named after a Jamekan soundsystem of the same name, ran by brother Belcha Reuben.
..
Also we are the first Reggae soundsystem to function in Aotearoa(New Zealand) 1981-2. We also built the first Reggae soundsystem pon this land...which we finished in '84'...but you know how it is, they are never finished, modern tech an all. lol.
It was in '85' I went up to the uni to take up the broadcasting classes they had at the time, from there I practised on the Student Radio Station 95bfm, doing the lunchtime spots twice a week or so...not long after that i was given a spot for my own reggae show, called, 'Stone Reggae Show' that lasted 7mths or so.
..In 1993(the actual date:10/9/93) I made a guest appearance on the 'Dubhead show with guest'(95bfm) it was called at the time, and from there Dubhead let me guest on the show every last Monday of every month....as time went on I became a fill-in DJ...(I did a reggae marthon playin' the irie reggae vibes for a sweet five hours in 2002)that was lots of fun...BIG UPS! Brother.
In 2003, I found myself in the Far-I North, where I did a couple of shows on radio 'Te Hiku O Te Ika'(94.4fm) that was fun...BIG UPS! Whanau.
..
Did a few gigs up there to...'Tribute To The King Of Reggae Bob Marley & The Wailers,' 'Reggae Hip-Hop Marthon,'(Raspek SandBar massive), 'Breaking The Ice'(Methamphetamine Awareness Concert), & 'Far North Idols.
2006 found me back in Auckland, where I hooked up with the kfm Whanau. Radio kFM(106.9fm)...Where I now play every Monday 8pm till midnight,(gmt) a thing called 'Reggae Jam Session' which hit the top 10 internet radio ratings shortly after. listen online sponsored by iconz ....raspek to brother John and Kfm whanau.
..July.12th.2008 @ the Rising Sun, JahLoveSounz lays three of Sandy Bay Social Club selektaz to rest, in round 2 of the clash of the radio stations BaseFm Vs KFM, Oblex.b, Capt Sliva and Rebel.d, put a soundbwoy in der place...KO!!!
All the KFM Posse jusa Ram-a-Dancehall that night!
It was a fun night full of awesum sounds from both sides.
BTW..If you think you got what it takes to SoundClash...Don't just bring it, FLING IT!
KFM Won dat One.
Now where was I?....O yeah...
.....From there we played wherever and whenever we could....in those days it was a hard lagg, coz Reggae was frowned upon, coz of the obvious...dats why they wouldn't let Bob Marley and The Wailers in at first(1977)...But they can't keep good things down, it was april 1979, Bob Marley & The Wailers touched down in New Zealand...yeah mon, the biggest Reggae influence was now here to stay...Forward Eva, Backward Neva....
In 1986 we changed our name to 'The Twelve Tribe Of Israel SoundSystem' I never liked that system word...So we dropped it.
'12 Tribes Of Israel Sounds'
