We are a portrait of ecstasy, A marvel to be seen. As we waltz through the hours of the day into the dreams of the lonely night; spectators watch in awe. We were painted with the finest brushes and a dash of inspiration. We are the fairytale romance promised to little girls. We are the perfect figures depicted in the magazines. We are the flawless smiles, We are your dreams. We are plastic. We are a lie. We are shadows of ourselves. A shaky attempt to attain perfection. We are a portrait of ecstasy.
Life is a waste of paint, a good idea gone bad. Splattered on the floor it remains, a portrait of forgotten seventh heaven. Those brilliant blobs stain the fringes of our reality; those stifling stains make their territory known. We are the artists on this expedition: our minds the brushes. We paint a portrait of our life with vibrant strokes, pretending to make a big impact. We waste our paint. We make ourselves seem more significant than we really are, we are narcissistic: Not everyone can be the Mona Lisa. Time painted life, yet we seem to auction it off. A waste of effort, a waste of paint.
I got what I wanted
But in the end, it wasn’t what I needed
Or maybe it was just that
An inevitable, needed mistake
A lesson so necessary
That I couldn’t get out of it
What's great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca-Cola, and you know that the President drinks Coke, Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think, you can drink Coke, too. A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all the Cokes are good. Liz Taylor knows it, the President knows it, the bum knows it, and you know it."-Andy Warhol
my mommy is my best friend and she means more than the world to me. we have rough times, but she will always be there for me. we have our similarities and our differences, but we are more alike than she or i will ever know. i feel undeserving everyday for what i have put her through and still put her through, but she understands that i am still a child. without my mommy i would be lost and living a completely different life. i love you.
