About Me

What can I say? Hi, I'm Kate. You knew that.

My Interests

The usual stock interview answers...I like to read, I like to interact with people, spending time with family and friends, etc....I have a dog, her name is Maggie, and I like hanging out with her. She's five and she's a big mutt (a shelter rescue, the best kind). She still thinks she's a puppy, though, so don't tell her she's due for senior dog food in a year. I knit, and now can crochet, and in fact I've even been known to teach knitting for fun and profit. I seriously do like to read a whole lot of different things, I also like a lot of diverse music, and I paint (oils), although not that well, and I draw (graphite/pencils/chalk), although, again, not so well. But, well enough to make me happy. I fancy myself something of an amateur photographer (see the pics section) and I like being outside for almost any reason. I like finding new things that I like. I actually like being a doctor, too. My professional interests center around the treatment of eating disorders and PTSD, but still have some developing to do. I'm new to the psych world and still have a lot of career options to consider!

I'd like to meet:

People. I'm very fond of people. The non-creepy type.

Music:

Yes. Like music. Almost all of it. I'm a sucker for well-penned lyrics, though, that's what really gets me.

Movies:

Dogma - best film ever made. No, really!

Television:

I do own one. Don't actually watch much current TV, sadly, with my schedule, but the one show I always catch is Bones, and I totally love South Park. Will admit to being a die-hard Buffy fan; also miss the days of Welcome Back, Kotter, can recite most episodes of the Golden Girls and post-Trapper M*A*S*H. Can you tell what time of day most of my TV viewing happens?

Books:

Love 'em. Bring 'em on.

Heroes:

Hmm, so many. My Aunt Eugenia. Richard Feynman. Rosa Parks. Old-school Ani D. I know I'll think of more.
