About Me

If you desire a copy of VIA, simply CLICK THIS BUTTON.Seputus was formed as kind of a project of interest between Doug and I. We're both extremely critical with metal music, and are pretty specific with what we like to hear, so we figure what'd be a better idea than to just do this project together and create something WE'D like to hear. Seputus covers most of the metal spectrum around death, black, doom, and tech stuff... make

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Doug Moore lives in the Pennsylvania area (just outside of Philadelphia, to be specific) and he does most of the lyrical writings and vocals, as well as guitars. He's a critic on www.metalreview.com and he does a pretty thoroughriffical job of it.Steve Schwegler (that would be I) lives in Wyncote (just outside Philadelphia) on his off time from full time work (which is about 3 or 4 times a year.) I do a good chunk of the guitars, some vocals, and all the drums, as well as the mixing on my computer. I also play drums and do vocals for another band called Orotund when I'm home. When I'm working, I'm currently residing an hour and a half north of Seattle in a small town called Oak Harbor. We're covering both coasts so that's nice...
Influences: We are very versatile listeners with few boundaries as to what we'll put on. Everything has a way of influencing ideas into what we do. Classical music from the baroque & romantic era and various electronic-based music tends to rear it's head most often. Most Metal music in general is an influence on us, as throughout a day we'll cycle through Enslaved, Anata, Gorguts, Burnt By The Sun, Emperor, Morbid Angel, Neurosis, Gojira, Disillusion, Today Is The Day, Botch, Cryptopsy, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Dark Tranquillity, Anaal Nathrakh, Yob, Pig Destroyer, Akercocke, Necrophagist, Dismember, Meshuggah, Rune, Deathspell Omega... the list goes on day by day.
Sounds Like: Seputus covers a good, wide range of the metal spectrum. Doug and I will use whatever ideas that come up in our frigged up brains, so... death, doom, black, tech, grind... it's all fair game.
Record Label: Yeah right. *Laughs hysterically*

For us puny humans...

Another experimental step forward for us... though really it's not very experimental in nature. What would we have sounded like in the early 90's? This track would probably be a good hypothesis.  ...

A Malapropos Cavalcade

This new piece of music was written by me and Doug wrote an outstanding group of lyrics and vocal patterns. Our dear friend Kim Kelly contributed vocals in the vocal tradeoff. Inspirati...

the album

I thought I'd say a few words regarding the process behind the album now that it's out. Seputus started as a completely hypothetical idea that honestly I had little initial faith in. With Steve living...

I've gotten the mastered album back from John McCain at panicStudios. He did an AWESOME job, and we're pleased to have taken it there. The album flows really nicely and I can't wait to send it out for...

Artwork and mastering

Via is now, for sure, on it's last stages. I hack'ed up some artwork last night until the asscrack of dawn this morning, and Doug and I are quite satisfied with it. As for the music itself... I'm taki...

Monstrous workings.

So we're close to the end of this journey now... vocals for Scientia and Aegrum were completed today with monstrous results. I'm really happy with the way things have been going lately, as we're only ...

Instrumental recording done!

Steve finished recording for the final Via track, "Irritum," at an ungodly hour this morning. With that out of the way, all we've got left is a bunch of vocal tracking (my throat is cowering in fear) ...
